Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Yes it does. Their blood.” Ihra responds.

“We can hear him. You want to go walk out, find what it is, and get another thing stuck on your hand?”

“Any time.”

 

"What about it?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

“The nullmagic would’ve seeped into their blood. It’s still there, if you didn’t also filter it completely.”

 

"Yes, but I also think it's a bad idea, so I'm not going to."

 

"We ran some blood tests and they came up healthy. I suppose we could check again." Shadow Stephanie says, thinking.

 

"And there's nothing dangerous connected to it?"

 

“Expose it to healing magic, that’ll be an easy test.”

“Well, do something. If that dog barks again I’m punching it.”

”Nope.” She shrugs. “Not everything has repercussions.”

 

"Alright, we'll run a few more tests." Shadow Stephanie says, before leaping down.

 

The giant tries turning the other direction, softly putting his fingers over Ted's mouth.

 

"Anne, you don't mind if I have a go at it, do you?"

 

“And don’t tell Sgavrinn about this.”


Amber rises from the ground, using a shield to block her rotting flesh from the sun.
“So many dead... so many opportunities...” She mumbles to herself as she looks at the carnage.

“Not at all.” She shrugs.

A louder growl.

 

The giant keeps rotating until he gets the lowest growl.

 

The loudest growl is also the lowest.

 

"Alright. In that case, would you be able to let me try, Rema?"

 

"Hm?" Shadow Stephanie asks, catching herself on the ledge.


Hundreds of guardians lay dead, rotting. Amber finds a pair of guardians laying on top of each other, what looks like the guardian trying to defend the one under it being shot through the head; the bullet piercing into the guardian it was trying to defend. The stench is unbearable to anyone unacquainted with it. Among the crowds of guardian corpses, trees and flower patches appear to have sprouted, as well as small puddles in recessed ground, scorched areas and spiked hills.

 

“After I finish this medicine, yes.” She nods, continuing to stir.

 

"Well, are we going that way?"

 

“Sgavrinn really doesn’t need any more bad news right now.”


Amber accelerates their decomposition, burying each skull individually with a small hand-dug grave. She seems to grow stronger for each corpse she does that to.

"I still think it's a bad idea, but..."
The giant starts marching the way that Ted's growling.

 

Shadow Stephanie nods, before letting herself fall, flipping in the air before landing gracefully.


As Amber buries the guardians, she notices strange effects occurring with a few. Some seem to cool rapidly, ice appearing on their bones while others appear to blacken with extreme heat. Flowers grow over the shallow graves of some, while the ground seems to dim and die with others, and a icy breeze flies through Amber. The ground appears to become softer with a few, before hardening once buried.

After burying quite a few guardians, Amber sees a figure in a black cloak out of the corner of her eye, watching. A wind blows by, his cloak fluttering to reveal...no legs at all.
