Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"What do you mean?" Shadow Stephanie asks.

 

"If you felt as offended as you sounded by the question, she felt the same way." He shrugs.

 

"Yes, to Rema we go."

 

"I mean, why did she feel the same way?" Shadow Stephanie asks, confused.

 

“It would be like Stephanie refusing to help you, or you refusing to help Stephanie. An ally you thought was close leaving you in the dark during a dire time.”

Anne pads on, looking up at the sky for a bit before picking up her pace.
“Those clouds sort of look like rain, I don’t want to chance it.”

 

"Rema's is not that far from here. If we pick up the pace, we should stay dry."

 

"And that ties into Emerald being annoyed at the guards bad lying skills? Why does she care?" Shadow Stephanie asks, pulling out another book.

 

“She didn’t know about the... battle... on Earth. She wanted to know if Aj or Artemis were available, or if they were tied up with their own affairs. She’s not useless if they’re injured, she’s annoyed that they wouldn’t let her help a friend.”
Pause.
“Of course, take my words with a grain of salt, I just had three drinks and paid with heads.”

“It’s not far, but it is sort steep going up.”

 

"Gotta get a grip then. It will get slippery when it starts to rain."

 

“I’m going to be hiding under your shirt if it starts raining.” She says, slowing down a bit to stay close to you.

 

"Oh right, water. That's gonna be a problem."

"Just climb aboard and we'll go for a run to the top."

 

"Right."
The giant nods, holding his weapon awkwardly in between his arm and his side as he opens a portal and fishes for something.

 

"Oh, I didn't know about that." Shadow Stephanie says, putting the book back.

 

“She respects your group. She could’ve just traced them, not even bother asking. You’ve made it clear you don’t like it when she does, and she’s trying to change herself for you. Being lied to sort of sticks a thorn in that.”

“No more dog toys.” The dryad growls, Erre waving off a bit of smoke with his lance off to the side.

“I think I can make it if we just run.” Anne says, starting to pull ahead of you again.

 

"I don't think Ted needs gas masks to not choke, so it's not for him, don't worry."

 

"I wasn't responsible for the guards lying to her. The new guards have been a lot stricter after the mimic incident and I had no idea she even came to visit because of all my paperwork." Shadow Stephanie says, annoyed, looking through more books.

 

“How much shit do you have in those pocket dimensions? Geez...”

“Because you have Gaia in your realm. You think her children wouldn’t try to be finding their missing god?”

 

Shadow Stephanie just sighs, taking out another book.

 

He sits down, looking at the bookshelves.
“If you don’t mind me asking, why come here if you’ve still got mountains of paperwork to go through?”

 

"Respite and a hopeful cure to the problems Aj and Artemis are facing." Shadow Stephanie says.
