"Why can't things be easy for once?!" I say, clearly annoyed by the centipede.
Opening my wings as I walk up to the witchfiend, I ready my bow and as much wind magic as I can release.

I don't really have much to say other then my shame turning to anger on myself for being powerless compared to him

 

“I’m tired of this shit already...”
Marcus growled.

 

"Say, Alexander? Beating the Sphinx, was that thanks to the use of magic or was it pure physical strenght?"

Angela's full powered shot was deflected by the centipede's shell the moment they collided. The witchfiend was moving at a terrifying speed through the ground up into the ceiling. They couldn't tell how big the thing was—it was so large and long, it was passing through the corridor for a good thirty seconds, even with its speed.

"Damn it!" Angela swore, stepping back a few meters, understanding that her shots weren't capable of damaging the monster.

"Come back, Angela! This place is falling—!!!" Diabel shouted after the seraph, motioning with his free hand, the other supporting Kayde.

"We have to get out of here quickly!" James shouted to Day, who nodded back weakly. Without saying anything, the boy lead them through the tunnels which were cracking up through the vibration.

And they finally reached a staircase leading up, and what they saw above———

Alexander turned to Rathius with a smile, who had walked up to him and asked the question.

"It's my Divine Blessing that has been passed on down in the Hestiria Family, «Divine Blessing of the Sword Saint». Its effect immediately brings out the full power of a person, up to the highest level of potential one nurtures in their body. It's that, and my Sword Skills combines, I guess. Does that answer your question?"

Rathius scratched his head. "Yes..... not really....."

In Archibaud's head, Izanami quietly whispered. His Blessing is similar to what my contract does. ......But that means that that man was born with the potential to destroy the world— and that alone is terrifying.

".......really. I agree." Archibaud muttered darkly.

Then, a shock ran through the entire earth, sending a deep vibration through the walls.

"An earthquake!?" Carol cried, bracing her body.

Roswaal narrowed her eyes. "No.... something is different...... Ah, I see."

The ceiling cracked greatly, and rubbles started falling down towards the whole group.

"...........Al Fula."

There was a second where everyone inside the room couldn't breathe as the wind mana concentrated above the sorcerer— before an enormous force of wind that even repelled the force of gravity shot upwards, pushing the pieces of stones up and against the walls, preventing more to fall down. A deafening roaring sound filled the room as the wind mana formed a super-storm above Roswaal's raised hand.

"Wha———!?" Even Sirius seemed shocked at the sight— the woman's powers was truly fitting for the title, the «Greatest Sorcerer of Arcuntar».

"Sword Saint! We must get to the surface!" Even while the massive concentration of wind mana formed the storm above, water mana concentrated over Roswaal's other hand and formed a sword of hardened ice.

She dropped the blade down to Alexander, who caught it skilfully and examined it.

"It might not bring that force from earlier that killed Sphinx, but it'll do its job."

Alexander gave the sorcerer a small bow. "I will thankfully borrow it, Lady Roswaal."

He held the sword's hilt with both his arms, and crouched into position. Rathius knew through his instincts he had to get away, and he leapt backwards.

At the same time, Alexander gave a small grunt as he swung up his sword with full force upwards. Blue light flashed brilliantly—and a gigantic shock radiated upwards at the ceiling. Everyone in the room shielded their face from the light———

".....!?" And felt their body float upwards, brought up by sheer air pressure.

"DON'T RESIST!" Roswaal's voice, magnified through magic, boomed through the roaring sound of the storm and explosion formed by Alexander.

Through the tunnel formed vertically through the ground, Roswaal carried everyone inside, to the outside with her wind magic.

As they reached outside under the night sky in open air, they were thrown off to the ground. Roswaal immediately came outside, landed on one of the flat rubbles, and staggered. Sweat was forming on every inch of her skin, and blood was trailing out from her nose.

"A....ahaha.... that was demanding.... even for me......"

Carol immediately rushed up and supported the sorcerer from falling down.

".......hey, did you guys just come out of that hole.....?"

Just as a new voice muttered, a grey-haired youth came into view, along with a few others over a mound of rubbles.

"James..... Angela, Kayde, Diabel....." Rathius muttered, his eyes widening in surprise. "How did you guys——"

"It's no time for doing that!!" Kayde, who seemed to be almost completely drained of energy, shouted grimly. "Look over there!"

A giant black centipede was rampaging through the houses and the town nearby, and flames were rising all over the place—and so were screams of citizens running from the monster's destruction. Alexander stood still on top of the rubble, his eyes widened with shock.

"Well, fuck..."
Marcus shook his head slowly.

 

"Ugh.. does this ever end?!"

 

If Iza wasn't in scythe form then i ask her to become a scythe and stand waiting to see what willl happen

 

"So...game plan?"

 

"What a great occasion for a meeting..." I say, looking at the centipede. Hold onto the bow as tightly as I can.

The enormous centipede monster wreaking havoc in the town. Compared, they were all drained of energy and were in the worst condition they could be.

".......Look, someone's fighting them!"

Someone shouted, and at the same time, the centipede's body was knocked back greatly by a huge shockwave of wind.

Standing on the street right in front of a green-haired young woman, wearing light silver armour and holding a longsword glowing with green light.

"Lady Estelle...." Angela muttered upon seeing the head of the Belstain family taking on the massive witchfiend with her Sword Skill «Hundred-Men-Strike», a technique which combined wind magic with sword swings, dealing invisible long-ranged attacks.

Besides Estelle was a white-furred two-tailed fox—Estelle's first knight, Fourier Argoyle.

A few other Royal Knights were in the fight—including their captain, Marvin Gildark.

"Then, if we have Alexander in there, we can...." Rathius turned a look towards the Sword Saint, but saw that the redheaded youth had his eyes widened in a silent shock.

"That centipede...... its life force is made up from hundreds of humans...."

"........tch, Authority of Gluttony." James clicked his tongue, disgusted by Rey's ability to turn humans into witchfiends.

"They must be the other blotch of citizens captured during the Witch Cult attack." Sirius said darkly.

 

"No way. What is wrong with those people?!"

Rathius tries to stand straight.
"We.. need to help them."

 

I don't say anything, but wait to see what everyone here will do

 

"That is... insanely disgusting."

 

"...well, we aren't achieving anything standing here. Let's go."
OOC:"Justice League, move out!"

 

“Waaaiit a second.” Roswaal called, closing one eye. “I’m afraid to breeeaak your hope, but it isn’t possible to reverse Authorities with any means we have of now.”

“....! How do you know!?” Rathius turned towards the sorcerer, grasping his fists.

Roswaal narrowed her eye. "Perhaps you'd want to ask the Great Spirit over there.... she must be pretty knowledgeable~?"

Wait, Iza? Is that true? Archibaud asked Izanami into his scythe. There was a silence, then flames circled around next to Archibaud and Izanami materialised.

She pursed her lips, then looked at Roswaal. "Those Authorities are completely different from the rules of this world. Our magic won't solve it.... if anything will, our only hope will be other Authorities."

"No way." Carol looked down while gritting her teeth.

"Aaaand Sword Saint.... you should know that too, hm~?"

"I...." Alexander looked at his hands—and even then, he did not move.

"......damn it." Diabel turned, drawing his sword. "I'm going. The damage will only continue to rise if this goes on."

"....Diabel." Alexander called. "You..... those people...."

"I'm sorry, Alex." The blue-haired knight said, summoning his spirits for a final battle.

 

"I'm going too. Might aswell finish the day with a bang."

 

"Look, unless you two have some surprise power or something, that's a death wish."
Marcus said cynically.

 

"If that thing isn't stoped there will be more casualties"
