Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"One, two, three."

All winds up going well, the hound now attached to its hand by the torso, as it just whimpers and licks the giant's arm.

"They're a really weird game of give and take, admittedly. They can be loyal to a fault, though."


She looks into them, still trying to petrify it.

 

The giant nods, looking at the hound.
"Let's move."
He starts walking forward more.

 

It seems pained and confused, but mostly nervous. On the flip side, it's stopped struggling, which makes controlling the hand easier.

The dryad follows, the hall cleared out of people, but the smoke from earlier still lingering.

 

The giant tries to make his way through as quickly as possible, holding his breath.

 

Seems he's blown it back to fill the next chamber, but there's a draconian maintaining a sphere of clean air in the middle of the chamber.
"Get in." They growl quietly.

 

The giant does so, using his spare fingers on his free hand to shut the hound's snout.

 

The dryad slips in next.
"How's the other branch?" She asks.
"Lost two, killed forty. The distraction's cleared out most of the guards here, but they're all around the spire. I'm trying to disperse them, but they're holding on fairly well."

 

The giant looks at the other ways to go, not inputting into the conversation.

 

The draconian opens their mouth again before hesitating.
"Oh, they're not waiting for us to melt... they're blowing the third spire."
"Wait, they're not stupid?"
"They're a hive mind, no they're not stupid."
"Well, spires are supposed to be stronger than any other part of the caverns... and they can't melt it any faster than they are."
"They can thin the walls from the inside, but that'd require immense sacrifices."
The dryad nods before turning to you.
"Hey, mister hound-hand, what do you think about this?"

 

"I think we might need to hurry up. What about you, Ted?"
The giant takes his fingers off the dog's snout, ready to put them back on if he starts making too much noise.

 

"Good. And I also wanted to thank you for keeping an eye on Anne back then."

"You know. So that the other dragons won't eat her."

 

Caelia just shrugs.


This time, the beast is petrified; but Fenira is left with pair of stone claws over her.

 

“...Here, if you don’t mind. Perhaps you might find this interesting.” Idhaenna says, summoning a bracelet. “It’ll let you speak to her without needing to jump all the hoops with chronomancy, should you ever feel like it.”


She moves out of the way, leaving the beast somewhat nervously.

“Heh, I don’t think she’d get far down. She’s a fighter, that’s for sure.”

The hound whimpers once before relaxing and just letting itself hang off your hand with a sigh.

 

"Ha. Yeah she is. But.. she doesn't stand a chance against a group of dragons, I think."

 

“I wouldn’t underestimate a kitsune.” Siln says, sighing. “It’s often the last mistake people make.”

 

"Oh please. She's fast and can create flames, but a dragon doesn't really care about flames, do they?"

 

"Her?" Caelia asks, telekinetically taking the bracelet.


The beast moves, shaking a little, before collapsing into a pile of rubble.

 

“The... former... human that acts as the face of my supercomputer. Stella.”


She seems annoyed, looking for other beasts nearby.

“Flames, no, but the lack of flame... a kitsune can strip our ability to breathe fire.”

 

"She can?"

He turns to Anne.
"You can?"

 

"I'll consider it." Caelia says, the bracelet disappearing.


The beasts appear to have scattered after seeing Fenira take down a tougher one.
