Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There’s a game of stones and a sleeping guest laying in the middle of the cave.
“If I knew you’d be coming back, I would’ve made sure he cleared out.” He sighs.

The footsteps eventually fade, and the fog becomes slightly thicker.

Idhaenna enters, remaining standing as her necklace scans the cart and its construction.

 

The giant continues to wait anyways, listening.

 

"Don't worry. We won't stay for that long. We just want to check on you."

 

You don't hear much of anything, other than the soft scratching of a bug or small animal making a misstep.

"I appreciate it. I'm glad to see you're both okay, though."

 

It appears to be a rather simple cable car system, motors and gears in the top of the cart responsible for it's movement; proven as they begin to turn and carry Idhaenna along.

Gail, ice cream hanging in her mouth, operates the station; watching Idhaenna leave.

 

Idhaenna waves as the cart moves on, sitting down and taking in the view.

 

Gail waves back.

The cart moves across a huge gap between two large peaks, forests, rivers and waterfalls below. Clouds aren't far from her current height, and she can see flocks of birds flying below.

After getting to the other side, the cart shifts. It seems to move it's gears around, before zooming up to the station.

 

Idhaenna waits a second to see if the door opens on its own, someone else opens it, or if she's supposed to.

 

The door opens on it's own at the station, an odd ant-eater like being waiting behind a desk; tongue licking the air occasionally.

 

“Hello, mind telling me where I am?” She asks, leaving the cart.

 

"Yer in the Lapidarian Heights miss." The being says.

 

Idhaenna nods.
“Thanks.”
She looks around for a map and the exit, simply leaving if she can’t find a map.

 

There's no map, but exiting leads out onto rolling grassy hills, the sound of running water nearby. A wooden sign confirms the being's information about the location's name.

 

After leaving, Idhaenna flies up a bit for a better look at her surroundings.
“Gaia, Mortius, Caelia... that’s a whole lot of visiting to do in one break...” She mutters to herself.

 

Idhaenna can see a stream, another of the ant-eater beings fishing in it. Further ahead, Idhaenna can see an incline leading up to a house with an arched base.

 

She descends towards the house and walks towards it once she lands, glancing at one of her bracelets in the meantime.

 

Getting closer, Idhaenna can see what looks like a huge telescope on top of the house. Stairs lead up into the house, while there seems to be a passage through the archway below the house.

 

She shifts to the spectral plane, looking for anyone near or inside the house.

 

There's a much older ant-eater being sitting inside the house, but he seems to be asleep.

 

She switches back and flies back up, not wanting to disturb him.
