''There that's Maex'' i say to the dogun

 

"well lets head over there and see if theres anyone left if its at least same to stay at for a bit."

 

"Oh no you don't!" Siatun says, tearing the Maex scroll in half and promptly vanishing. "Shit!", the Dogun shouts. The villager guards surround you. You here laughter from the ranks - the guard from the North Gate is here too, clearly.

 

I facepalm ''Well looks like he's having a terrible day.'' i then turn to the guards ''So what did you want?''

 

"This way!" She leads you across the wreckage, over a stream of slow-moving lava and to a much wider lava river. "That tower, on the other side.", she says, jumping in and swimming. You're not entirely sure your wand can survive being submerged in lava, and you're not keen to find out.

A particularly muscular guard turns to you and speaks. "We want to know what it's doing here", he glares at the Dogun, "Where it got so many scrolls and why the fuck a villager's helping it. Any answers?"

 

I look around. Is there any way around the stream? Like a bridge or somewhere narrow enough to jump over

 

''No idea where she got the scrolls and frankly i don't care, as for why I'm helping her it's simple. I had nothing better to do till the evening''

 

The river seems to lead all the way from the volcano and downstream out of sight. Of course there wouldn't be any bridges, this river is new, having only recently devastated the city around it. Bantira reaches the other side, her body glistening in the sun as the lava runs off it. "You coming?", she calls.

He takes a scroll and shoves it in your face. "How the fuck d'you think a Dogun got hold of Dwarven scrolls? It's been stealing from our fucking allies and you're helping it get away?" Three guards are trying to arrest the Dogun - she seems to be struggling.

 

''And what proof do you have that she stole them?''

 

"How the fuck else would it get them? Doguns are banned from Dwarven lands!"

 

I turn to the dogun ''So how did you get them?''

 

Is it too far to throw the wand across?

 

She kicks one of the guards holding her, freeing her wand arm and casts an ice snake into the group of guards, freezing most of them, and makes a break for the West gate. Your guard was one of the few it missed. "Stop the fucking thing! Go!", he shouts at you, charging after her.

It would be risky, but it could work. "Could you try that teleport spell?", she calls back. You seem to have recovered enough mana to try it.

 

I run after her and cast wind prison and if she gets trapped i say ''So you did steal the scrolls''

 

The spell hits her, briefly hoisting her into the air, but she teleports onto a nearby rooftop and keeps running. "Shit!", the guard shouts. "After it!"

 

would it be possible for me to cast uppercut on myself in a non damaging way to lauch myself on the roof?

 

No, it would hurt. It would probably work to get you up though. You also know the theory behind the teleport spell, although you never gave it much attention in practice, it not being very useful in combat. It would also be possible to launch the guard up there using uppercut, although he probably wouldn't appreciate it.

 

I'm going to the palace so i don't want the guards to hate me, I also don't want to ruin my new robes. So I'll try teleportation and most likely fail

 

"Yea but ill probably end up buggering it up again. Oh well. Ill just do that and if i do mess it up ill try to throw my wand over to you, ok?"

 

Pay for it and leave and look deeper in town.
