really though you should drop the book. I wasn't allowed an eye of a demon, you probably won't be allowed a lovercraftian book. also are you a magic user? a fighter? both? (@HMTN can we even have both?)

Well I'll drop it when HMTN tells me to. I won't be OP with it. I'm technically a magic user since I want to be part of a cult (hence the robe & book), but I also wanted to use my knife in melee too.

This is confusing. Did his basic attack somehow knock me to 3 Vitality? I was at 8 before this turn. And how did my attack do so much damage? Maybe it skipped his armor somehow, but...

Either way, can I retroactively-dodge and stab him more in the same turn?

 

They aren't a cult tho...

I'm not sure howw it works but I think that dodging might be considered moving thus using your turn. But again I don't really understand our system.

Wait I thought you were trying to join the specific cult of the rp.
If you just want to join any cult then I suggest you get an early access to the cult of [REDACTED].
You get such benefits as: not dying when [REDACTED] comes back.

Make thr entire thing based on angering the gods.
Attempt to screw with the GM in anyway we can.

Another minute and you finally find something vaguely torch shaped on a wall. Looks removable, but it isn't lit.

I'm really off form, apparently, presuming I have one. Sorry. Armor appeared to have been single use? Magic item of some sort? There wasn't actually ever any physical armor, and "single use" is pretty much the only way to get you out of this fight alive.

He goes in for an attack, but both of you are knocked on to your feet by a nearby shudder. Can't be an earthquake, too shallow and fast. You have the opportunity to finish him if you want, but he's rather dazed by the whole thing.

That's a skill called 'evasion', which can be used as a reaction.

"HM, God-Emperor" has a nice ring to it, you know.

 

This whole combat system is somewhat confusing. How is my health getting tracked, since the number is changing randomly? How is the amount of damage I'm taking and dealing varying so wildly? I preferred the combat before the formalized system existed.



Has the first health potion worn off yet? If so, I drink another one.

Either way, I then finish him off with a quick slash to the neck.

Good point. Well, I guess I'm glad that poll's up there. It's like an active tracker of the system, and if enough people don't like it I'll do something about it. I've actually now put my vote now as "no", so It'll only take 3 people (or 2 changing their minds) to change it, which honestly isn't much.

It looks as bashful as a bunch of rocks in a human shape can before it throws a rock (through you), and, distracted, takes fire to the face.

It basically becomes a mirror of Matt, smashed in the face and all, although it stays standing. You manage to blow off a chunk of it (it's rather loosely held together), but it seems to be fine.
