The giant looks the man up and down.
"Depends. Is one enough to rouse suspicion?"

 

“They’re expecting two to come up. I could just say he was reminiscing at the cave he found his pet.” He shrugs. “I’d rather just have him not be dead and raise no suspicion as we head out, though. Atavul kills first and investigates later.”

 

"A'ight. Go off. Don't make me regret it."

 

Katie and Abigail keep playing the game together. Soon it seems Katie has forgotten all about the state of her parents.


"No, but not because they tried to help you." Eve says.

 

"Hey. That tickles."

He giggles.
"Cut it out."

 

"Again, if my friend's still alive, no questions will be asked. Mind checking with your allies, or am I asking too much?"

"Frosting's the best, though." She says with a smile, moving away from your face.

Kiin sneaks off.


"Is Miorah alive, and how does Xlentia fare?" Gaia asks, in some sort of weary panic.

 

The pair don't notice Kiin leave, absorbed with the game.


"I don't know and Xlentia is well, based on the last time I saw her." Eve says.

 

“Have you seen her since she went after Atavul?”

 

"Yes. She is well." Eve says.

 

Gaia lets out a sigh.
“I can’t even take care of myself nowadays... perhaps Fenira was right, that my children were fools thinking I could protect them.”

 

"Do you age?" Eve asks.

 

"What flavor is the frosting?"

 

“Are you saying I look my quadrillions?” Gaia asks, offended.

“Raspberry. With chocolate cake.”

 

"No, but an inability to look after oneself is a trait shared by both those badly injured and those in old age. I asked the question to try to discover which one it was." Eve says.

 

Gaia glares at Eve, but says nothing before sighing and turning away.

 

"Which is it?" Eve asks.

 

“I’m badly injured. Sealing only occurs after mortal wounds that cannot otherwise be healed. My release from my seal simply means my wounds can be healed, with no regard to how long it may take.”

 

"Interesting. The palace has facilities able to heal you if you require them." Eve says.

 

"Oh, wow. How does it taste?"

 

"Checking if your friend is still alive?"

The giant makes a link with the dryad he split up with a bit ago.
