"Best not repeat it here. Don't want to spend all that money on the bartender only to give him a reason to kick me out, eh?" She sits on the bed and starts unbuttoning her shirt.

He staggers. "Ugh. Do I need to carry this thing? Feels like a cart of bricks."

"Your guess is as good as mine. First time she's left in years." He hurries downstairs.

I continue walking.

 

"Ah, don't think I'd remember it anyway. Sounds much better in person." She giggles again, removing her shirt and throwing it to the floor. "You going to join me?"

The guard drops the hammer and starts dragging it along the floor behind him. Outside the mansion, you're stopped by another two guards. "Taking this thing to see Sord. Says it helped stop a revolution. Don't know what the fuck happened up there, not going to take its word. Have them keep an eye on it okay?"

"Its hot as hell in here, you got anything that could help me resist this heat?"

I decide to look around the area around the bar

 

"Eh, whatever." There's a sudden and deafening rumble and you feel the ground shake beneath you.
"Fuck.", one of the guards exclaims. "Screw Sord, I'm out of here." They drop your hammer and sprint towards the cliffside. The door is open, abandoned.

"I certainly do. We have rings - from the pools near Rodoroc. I'm afraid they're rather expensive at the moment - no Dogun has been allowed near their source in decades, and dwarves would boil alive in those pools, rings or not." He comes out with a selection of pearl-like rings, shaped like perfect toruses. "Twenty-six emeralds each. Terribly sorry."
Looking in your backpack you see that you don't have that much - only twenty-one and 43 shards. (1/64th of an emerald, practically worthless and obsolete by the time of the game)

"Oh, don't worry about the other guests. I booked all the rooms. You realise how many months' salary it took to arrange this? Please." She takes the key out of her pocket, locks the door and throws the key out of the window. Downstairs, you can vaguely hear the innkeeper shout in what seems to be terror.

The bar has been closed since you were there and you come across several drunks staggering home. The area is very quiet - the panic from the news seems to have moved off of the streets. The candles are still lit in the police station. Perhaps that might be a good place to ask?

"What those rings for?"

 

Turn towards the windows in the building. "So, what brought you to the Cinfras road?" I ask Rin.

 

"Uhhhh...."
"I wanted to experience more cooking?"
"What about you?"

 

I smile while still looking up. "Help the Forest. Animals and trees are dying, can't let that happen."

 

"They protect you from the heat - at least to some degree. You shouldn't pass out or feel any effects from these sorts of temperatures, but don't go diving into the aqueducts. Like I said, 26 emeralds."

As you go in, you see a door open at the back - the dwarf that attacked you is being interrogated.
"Hello again sir", the officer at the reception desk says. "Is this about the attacks?"

 

"How are you planning on doing that?"

 

Ah alright, however I am short, you mind if you take 21 emerald and some silver and iron?"

(How much of silver and iron i have?)

 

I shrug and look at her. "Every bit helps. I can do my part, helping out on what I can."

 

Slight bow of my head.
"Do you mind if I tag along then?"

 

You have a five bars of iron and three of silver. You don't know how much they're worth, though, the economy is in freefall.

"I don't normally make that kind of trade. I'm a salesman and identifier, not a craftsman. Do you have anything from your adventures that might be of interest to me?"
