Rp - Gavel's Darkest Hour- Act Two Begins [7/7]

She swoops at a group of dwarves above the gate whose crossbow bolts have been bouncing off her scales, neatly slitting all of their throats, before flying off to the west. Perhaps entering an agreement with such a beast was not the best of plans.

You pick up books on some teleportation and healing spells, as well as the ice snake Dermit used on you. Hopefully you can use it on him sometime.

You find that the usually dignified headmaster quickly descends into gossip when drunk. "Oh, you'll like this one.", she says. "When Elimut and I were at Gylia, yes that Elimut, I caught him teleporting above the bathrooms and turning the ceiling transparent!" She starts laughing hysterically.

 

I look for a map before leaving

 

You take an Atlas Of the Province and pack all the books carefully in your bag. As you reach the back door (the front door was destroyed), you see Esmé. "Hey, so I was on, um, how shall I put this, very good terms with Elimut while he was here. I've written you a reference - show it to him if you do go to him. Should help persuade him." She hands you a scrap of parchment with a few sentences and a signature.

 

"Well thanks. Can you also send a message from me to Dermit?"

 

Speak to the dwarfs "Well, I'm in a pickle. You got any ideas I can satisfy a great dragon with treasures." (sarcasticly)

 

ah she's certainly enjoying herself...and who am i to ruin her fun? she probably doesnt get to let loose like this often

btw is the headmaster an obsidian?

I bring the villagers to the door of the evil lair, then tell the password.

 

"I can. What would you like him to know?"

They don't seem to notice. Most of them are running up the canyon chasing after the dragon. The rest man the towers and keep trying to shoot it. Several messengers run into the path, shouting news of the dragon at anyone they find. At least nobody's going to stop you now, the pass to the Heights is clear.

Yes. She became one when she went to Gylia. She's a lot more respected than most Obsidians because of her magical skill and the fact that even Doguns hold the Grand Academy in the highest esteem.

"...and then we found her trying to climb through his window! Anyway, did you hear what I saw that meteor idiot do the other day?"

They all burst out of the lair, some with genuine weapons but most with random implements. "For the Revolution!" one shouts as he pushes the guard off the platform to his death.

"No words just this" I raise my middle finger

 

"I'll... I'll let him know." She runs back upstairs.

 

I head out

 

"Oh. Uh, excuse me. Bathroom." She hurriedly gets up and runs out of the bar, leaving her drink behind.

In front of you is the City of Gylia. It's rather arrogantly named, if it weren't for the Academy it would be a small fishing town. It does, however have adequate amenities, and it's getting dark. You're on the High Street along the lake, full of mismatched wooden buildings and cobbled alleyways. There's an inn on the corner, as well as a row of shops. Cinfras is not very far away, but the road is known to be dangerous at night, so it's probably best to wait until the morning to leave.

 

I go to the inn and check my pockets to see if I have any emeralds

 

i raise an eyebrow (do doguns have eyebrows?) as i watch her leave

i look around the bar as i continue to sip my drink

 

Doguns don't have eyebrows, but you make the equivalent Dogun gesture. One of the oligarchs at the bar has left and the other is sitting alone, staring into his drink. The group of Obsidians, clearly military types, seem to have began a type of game, each with cards in their hands. Your good friend the bartender is polishing glasses, looking rather sorry for himself.

You have a fair number of emeralds, easily enough for a room, but it's not going to last long. The inn is one of the oldest buildings in town and it shows it. The walls haven't been straight in centuries and the bar is extremely cramped. "What can I do for you, sir?", the bartender chirps. "You look rather down. Perhaps a drink would do you good, eh?"

 

"And a room"

 

i head over to the bartender
"what're you looking so down for?"
