Media Dern Is Realm

Why do people think that Road to Dern has a Door? In Fatntastic Voyage we get TELEPORTED to Dern by a Portal in cave, same happends in Corrupted Betrayal quest, we get Teleported. But quests is not only one reason why do I think that Dern is Realm. Second reason: Grian said that Dern is "Far off Dark Land", Dern cant be far off if its a Province because if RtD and Dern is one of the same then Dern is close to Detlas, so yea this is the second reason why Dern is Realm. Third reason: Why CT would make a separate location just to show us the Door? Just think about it...

P.S Next update is not DERN, its ROAD to Dern. And location behind Twain is ROAD to Dern. I wrote it because so many players saying Dern when talking about that location.

 

maybe its so far away, we need to take a portal to it.

traveling expenses nowadays are at an all time high now that we're in the peak of summer holidays, so traveling by plane or boat will be pretty pricey.

 

The fact that the update is road to Dern doesn't count out it being Dern.

Unless you give a source I think we can assume that road to Dern and Dern aren't the same thing. And I agree with @Yuno F Gasai, Dern is probably a province with a portal to a dark realm in it.

 

Every portal is a door man.

It's a hole that when you go through, make you be in another place.

When you're outside of your house, you go through the door, and then you are in another place ... inside.

Another example : The Chronicles of Narnia, you should probably understand what I'm speaking about.

 

No, most dictionaries define a door as specifically being a hinged/sliding/revolving barrier at an entrance to a structure (fridges are a structure). The portal does not slide, revolve or have hinges.

 

That depends of which definition of doors you search/found

In all seriousness this topic gives me headaches. There was a time where there was a debate on the forums if Dern was a Province or a Realm. The thread that Aarontti linked is the thread where I argue how Dern must be a realm, not a province.

After that, I took a break from the forums. I forget how long it was, but between 3-6 months. And in that time I went over this debate a lot, over and over again. And, after those several months of thinking, I got to my conclusion. Dern MUST be in the physical world, a "Province" if you will, NOT a Realm.

I'm going to go through your original post and aggressively refute all your claims. And I'm going to be very mean about it. Not because I want to mean, but because I spent several months going over this and now the whole topic annoys me.

Also, I don't think I even implied that Road to Dern is going to contain Dern. It's the road leading up to Dern, or maybe a little intro section within Dern, but NOT the whole of dern.

Now, to explain why this whole Province vs Realm thing is such:

In both cases, it's not stated that we go to Dern. I used Fantastic Voyage as a big part of my argument when I said it was a realm too. But, it's not quite there. A better argument is that we go to the Realm of Darkness, rather than Dern. Inside we have "Otherworldly Inhabitants", "Dark Skeletons", and the wither skull things called souls or shadows or something. In any case, the word "Dern" is not specifically stated. Unlike, say, the Dern Beasts on Dead Island. The color scheme matches of the black and purple, but all Darkness stuff has that theme. Really, the logic train that Dern has that color scheme BECAUSE of the RoD makes a lot more sense. But, irrelevant. All darkness stuff has that color scheme, so it's not proof that it's specifically Dern.

Meanwhile, look at the realm from Corrupted Betrayal. Yes, there is evidence that this place COULD be Dern, with the green in the color scheme and dernic weapons. BUT... this place is mostly grey and green. There IS some black and some purple magic, but nothing like the only black and purple seen in the Fantastic Voyage location. So these two places don't need to be the same. And, this place is not accessed by your typical portal. I forget if it's a teleport device or a small portal, but I remember that it's NOT the typical MASSIVE F***ING Voyage location). Now, I would like to think this place is the Realm of Darkness, but we have no indiciation that it is such.

Let me pull up that quote:

"In the lore of the game" implies that this is what the people in the world of wynn think. They don't see it as a true province, but as a far off dark land. This doesn't mean we need to have the same view as closed-minded peasents.

By "far off" could mean it's a distance far away, yes. But it could also be more of an out-of-sight out-of-mind type of deal. It's not something they know about, it's not something they care about. It's on the other side of a mountain range, who cares? And being "dark" well, yeah, it's connected to the Realm of Darkness.

The current standing theory is that Dern a province like Wynn, Gavel, or Fruma, but housed the portal to the Realm of Darkness. Each Realm has a "beast" (Cow, Orphion, etc) and the "beast" in the RoD was The Eye. The Eye broke loose and destroyed/enslaved/f***ed up Dern, making it this dark place. If you want me to explain this futher, PM me. But, keeping this in mind, read the quote from Grian in this new light and tell me if it still makes sense.

(Also the "you should still think of Dern as a province" line should be a pretty clear indicator)

They expanded the ocean with Corkus and added the door to Fruma? Also since Dern is the like "final level" area where all the bad sh*t is happening, it makes sense to cut it into multiple parts, so it's not like Gavel where it's released but unfinished.

 

Oh, so I can believe that 'rock' means a chinchilla if I find someone saying it online? All the biggest dictionaries say that's what it means so for all intents and purposes that IS what it means.

 

That's now what I said, but you seem to have gone on sarcastic point of view that has no point in answering to. So I will just let this discussion continues as it goes now.

Like I have said in other dern posts, I feel like we just don't know enough about dern to draw any conclusive theories. All we know about it is that it has a few access points in the world (TBA if they are physical gates, portals, or whatever they dream up) and it is where the bad things live. Not to mention that who says that that 'door' you speak of isn't just more of a portal cover like the temple of time gates?

There is also plenty of evidence on both sides to argue whether dern is a province or realm. I'm not gonna write a trump-sized wall for each so I'm just gonna suggest looking other older threads

I have my own personal theory of 'the eye'. But I don't think it is a mere beast like CoW or Orpheus that are powerful representatives of light and dark or whatever. It is just too prevalent and illusive in the lore. Kind of like Thanos of the MCU before infinity war: You know he is pulling strings, but you don't know his end game or exactly what strings he pulls. Thanos ALSO dose not appear directly before the heros until he is needs to. But when he dose finally show up its a lightshow. Not to mention that 'road to dern' doesn't exactly need to be a physical road. It could be a questline or multiple questlines about investigating or tracking down magical artifacts so you can create/locate a portal to dern so you can bust in guns blazing. It's pretty clear that Dern is the endgame of wynncraft so chances are that this update is going to be more set up for act 3 than an actual reveal.
