I feel like Compiler gets rarely used, despite the fact that it seems like a rather good weapon. Is there a reason it's not used as much, or is it used a lot and I'm just crazy?

Edit: I didn't know attack speed affected spell damage.

Small disclaimer that I haven't played wynn for a while (several months), but when I played compiler was seen in a couple of melee mage builds that abused attack speed buffs to get a lot of melee damage. I think that the attack speed nerfs now prevent someone using compiler from getting the very fast attack speed or something, and there may just be better choices now or something.

you also have to take into account the attack speed multiplier. as you can see, nepta here has higher dps even though it has lower base damage because of the attack tier multipliers.

it is normally used for melee mage builds but... eh... melee mage builds are way less effective than a spell spam one

yea rly the only viable way to use melee mage is with gaia
other than that you'll be lucky to get like half the dps gaia could get

I mean if we dont account for dps by attack speed, but by using spells instead. Say, using this in a spell damage build.

yea the attack speed multiplier affects spells too or else obviously everything would be rly unbalanced lol
using these too weapons for example, despite being the same level, compiler would be 5-6 times stronger than nepta

i wouldnt say way less effective, sure spell spam is the main thing mage is used for, but Gaia is super good, My main problem with melee builds in general is that theyre so glassy that anything that needs more than +4 is almost completely worth less, apoc gets away with it because its apoc and stupid good because of the massive LS and Def, but things like alkatraz Gaia (Not so much gaia because it only needs +4 or +5) is that they have to use super glassy items, with no option of LS or Def, compiler is even worse IMO because its Super Slow, and just doesnt have the damage to make up for the glass like Alka and Gaia do

Obviously it should be over powered because its only like level 90 and a rare, i think it should be either just Slow, or Very slow for it to be better and more worth it to use

well the problem with alkatraz is 120 strength requirement so on top of attack tier boosting items you also need str boosting items leaving not a lot for hp/defences
gaia is also a lot more viable since 1. lower reqs 2. mage has heal 3. mage melee attacks are just op (long range, can attack thru walls) 4. has powder slots so powder specials etc
basically gaia is infinitely better than alka lmao

    Alka vs Gaia:
    Alka:
    - Fucking highest damage
    Gaia:
    - You have a heal (expensive tho)
    - Good damage
    - No speed impediments
    - Only 95 STR required
    - Long Range Attack
    - Powder slots
Yeah, although Alka does like twice the damage of Gaia, Gaia is still much fucking better
