Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

Han nuzzles up to you, as behind you ghostie goes over to the glowy blue lizard guy does a thing whatever doesn't matter.
Han: "We'll be fine, nya~"
As he says that, you notice more and more green lines spreading from the core of the apparently now-quiet monster, almost like blood vessels. The largest are in the ground, but you notice thin strands of it floating through the air - or, rather, the magic in the air.
Especially looking at where the monster is, you can now see a clear shape - as the lines are essentially blood vessels gathered in it now. It's huge. The core is actually rather far down it, and it looms over the landscape with now-visible glowing green eyes.

Still no clue what green magic is.

You turns around towards the elemental, almost instantly running into some guy. He's blurry in this weird way - he looks hazy unless you look straight at him, but looking straight at him slightly hurts your eyes. Other than that, he looks like a very young mage, barely out of his teenage years.

Some Guy: "Umm... a... companion of mine w-wanted to talk with you. D-do you have time?"
Under him, under you, and under most of the area, glowing green lines appear to be spreading form the now-quiet elemental for reasons that couldn't possibly be unknown and highly disturbing.
Cracks in the pieces of the castle it gathered up to form its body of dirt and stone are forming, glowing the most ...unnaturally... natural green you've ever seen.

You take a swig and instantly feel like you have an army's worth of drummers thrashing inside of your head. You're on the verge of blacking out, but holding on for now. Barely.
Bartender: "Dead."
Waiter: "Oh, he doesn't stand a chance. Thought that him being a lizardman might help him, but he's as doomed as anyone else."
Waitress: "Wait... 240% Alcohol content? How does that work?"
Bartender: "The dwarves have an entire brand of magic dedicated to 'the drinking arts'."

I already tried that.
I'm sorry if you have OCD, for that probably ruined your day. Nothing I can do.

Leader: "Hrnggh. That actually hurt. Well done. Stole a weird knife off some noble the other day. Wondered when I'd get to use it."
And with that, he begins preparing an attack. He will unleash it on the next round.

Plate: "Almost believe you. Entered the room maybe a minute ago, some jewelry was missing. Did it just disappear?"

 

I grab at one of the strands in the air.

 

Dez:"With me? Is this about robbing the bookstore?"

 

I change the color of one of my potions of healing into the color of the light dwarven beer I drank and then I drink said potion.

Have you tried turning it on and off again?

 

Three questions:

1. Does the next round mean after my next attack (the one I would be making with this post)?
2. How long does it take to drink a potion? Can I drink my speed potion and take two actions on the same turn?
3. How does a knife improve your vitality? Or is it just random magic?

 

Frigid: "I don't know. There was a weird mouse guy outside fighting a gang, not sure if its related. You can search me though."

Actually, it feels rather wispy, not a liquid yet also concrete in a way. (If you were to compare it to air, it's like honey to water)
The second you touch it, tendrils of it begin growing into your arm. It feels... really really weird, and really, really hostile.

Some Guy: "Well... no, but I g-guess I know know y-you robbed a bookstore. S-some weird ghost girl I've been f-following around wants to talk to y-you."

It's hard to pull off, but you manage to ingest the potion without dying. You close your eyes in the process, and open them seconds later to an empty tavern. The pounding in your head seems distant now, much more bearable.

1. Yes
2. Speed potion doesn't count as an action. I guess to keep it fair, no use of a potion counts as an action.
3. Stronger weapon = stronger person, stronger person = more vitality, and I didn't have a concrete way in place to gain it, so..

Plate: "Ah, so it must be him, then. I'm sorry for the confusion. Still, my job is to keep out or kill intruders, so.. leave. Jester, please go out and take care of this 'mouse guy'."

I immediately back off, attempting to cut the connection, etc.
"Han? Help!.."

Pause ask Han, "Who is he talking about?"
Then realize that the tendrils are still there and continue backing off and strugglin.

Dez:"This sounds interesting, where is she?"

*I walk out of the building, trying to find somewhere else to rob*

 

I drink my speed potion. With the speed boost, I Double Strike x2/Makeshift Basic Attack x4 four times upwards into the gang leader's chest, for a total of 12 damage.

 

If you went to the trouble of using your money on 500 potions and using them all at the start of the fight when you presumably have full hp, I'm not stopping you.

You tear it off, but the weird green tendrils are still in your arm. Literally in your arm - the blood vessel comparison is apt again. Don't seem to be doing anything, other than a strange pressure.
Han: "Nyo idea~"

On a slightly more troubling note, the orb that apparently denoted the elemental's core seems to be moving, down into the ground.

Some Guy: "Right behind me."
He gestures to a girl with the same odd blurriness as him, currently locked in a life or death struggle with something you can't see.
The weird green glow that the monster had seems to have subsided, however, and it lies dormant. Perfect timing.

It's... the same tavern. Just no people.

Yes, burning docks are much better.
You're back at them 10 minutes later, so enjoy the double-sided unsolvable problem.

5 gang members blow right past you as you exit the house, screaming something about a killer mouse.
The jester followed you, and he's looping back around the house to where this 'killer mouse' is.
Street isn't empty, but most people are either in their houses or out on the town.

He falls over, dead in 5 seconds.
With that, the remaining gang members take 1 look at you and run.
Success.

 

I approach the girl and say
Dez:"Hello there ghost girl"

 

How deep in are they?

I turn to look at you.
