Generic Fantasy - [5/7]

Okay. I've been getting it right then. xD
I turn away from Ghostie and look at the hulk of bright aura, magic thingy.
I stop playing with Han for a moment.
"How long has that been there?"

 

Dez:"Okay. Now to more important things do you know what that thing is?" I point at the rock monster

 

I pull out my rapier and enter a combat stance, dropping my bag if it hinders my fighting.
Thorston: "Wrong target, apes."

 

I go to the proper inn.

 

deciding that the mouse person isn't important, I run into the manor, hoping to get stuff

Didn't you brag about how Thorston could take Eradius on? I think couple of bandits won't be a problem for you.

 

Well, if Thorston could get an ambush off.

 

This is all assuming delayed bomb was never cast, right? xD

 

Getting exploded would make stabbing people harder.

 

The problem with video games is you look up and damn it's 4 in the morning.

He turns his head, looking towards the same place you are.
"The monster, or the core I guess it came out of?"

Zethrair: "Either a golem or a really big earth elemental, I'd wager. Specifically? No."

They take out their weapons and dive in. If you do nothing, they will rend you with half a dozen blades in fractions of a second.
What do you do?

The street the guards talked to you on looks like a main street, and you reach the 4-way intersection that appears to be the town square a block later. The tavern they mentioned is on one corner, a town council building on another, a small town jail on the third, and the inn you're looking for on the final one, simply marked 'RUBY FALLS INN'

The first thing you notice walking inside is the paint, red everywhere, and the ceiling, rather low. There are a few people lounging downstairs, but most of the sounds you can hear come from the rooms.
Innkeeper: "5 Gold a night if you're stayin'. Are you?"

You magnificently (please kill me now) Break down the apparently locked first door, finding yourself facing a first floor room hub, along with a large ornate set of stairs leading up to the second floor. On those stairs sit a man in plate and what looks to be some bard or jester next to him.
Plate: "Hm? The intruder? That was fast, you were upstairs 30 seconds ago. Light on your feet for a giant."

 

Dez:"Any chance he didn't destroy everything in the academy?"

 

"Yes. Although I would like to eat something first. Also something to drink, something strong."

 

"Uhh..."
"Both?..."

 

I roll to the side and start stabbing at the gang members.

 

I am startled, as I have never been in this building before
"Excuse me?"

He just gives you an exasperated look, as a few blocks behind him the monster goes oddly silent.
"Everything in the academy is probably the rubble it's been throwing around. I doubt anyone's alive in there."

Innkeeper: "Yer gonna find that across the street. I have some stuff, but it ain't nearly as fresh or strong as the stuff in the tavern."

Ghostie: " The core... I think it got shipped from the capital maybe a week or 2 ago? It only started gathering rock around itself and becoming that monster elemental thing about 20 minutes ago, pretty sure you were there. Why?"

Plate: You know, jumping upstairs, taking pretty much anything in the room. I heard something, and the lady puts tracking spells on all of her property, so I'd recommend leaving whatever you have before we kill you. Makes it less messy."

 

"I don't care about anyone in there I left two items in there and I'm pretty sure with then that thing can be killed"

 

"Fuck. Allright."
I go to the tavern, order some food and a strong drink.
