Leo smirks. "Well I call it cyclone chess... Basically, you divide the board into four equal quadrants."

He shows you the four quadrants...



"Basically, you can move your pieces however you like in their respective quadrants. However, if you want to move your piece into another quadrant, it has to be to the quadrant next to it counterclockwise. Pieces may cross diagonally in the middle since you are technically going through counterclockwise."



"The goal of the game is the same... Checkmate the opponent's king. However, because of this cyclone chess thing, pawns on the queen side of the white pieces can never go past the 4th rank and pawns on the king side of the black side can never go past the 5th rank. This also means that white cannot castle queen side but black can castle both sides. White's disadvantage though is countered by the fact that white moves first. Black actually has the major disadvantage going second..."

"Also, let me give you a small example."

He brings out the white king and black queen.



"As you can see, in regular chess, the black queen would be checking the white king."

"But in Cyclone Chess, the black queen cannot attack the white king because they are in different quadrants and the queen has to travel counterclockwise."

"Do you understand uh, for the most part?"

The firework hits the axe exploding causing you to stumble and fall over.

However...

Suddenly, Zander reappears behind the 'ice user' and stabs him with this sizzling purple energy magic sword. The sword melts through the body as the 'ice user' gives a loud scream in agony before Zander pulls out the sword and the body goes limp falling to the floor.

(Like I said... nerfed lightsaber.... you just obliterated the dude).

The fire and air elementalist stare in shock at Zander before slowly putting their hands up in surrender and getting down on their knees.

What now?

 

"Wow this thing is neat" I approach the fire elementalist and point the saber at him "Now what does the rosary do?"

 

Yeah, but all of that is on mobile so I don't know how I feel about playing right now

 

"Are you retar -" he stops remembering the situation he's in. "Oh uh, it's called the Amulet of Divination... It tells you the future... It's literally called Divination..."

"You think?" Ezinth reappears out of nowhere desummoning an invisibility shard. "You didn't have to outright bloody kill the freaking man." He directs towards Zander.

 

"How the hell was I supposed to know that this thing would melt him"

"How does it work?"

 

"You killed the guy in our group that knows how it works dude," the fire elementalist retorts.

 

"That's what you get. Don't deal with people you can't handle."

 

"Who even are you people?"

 

"They're part of the bloody Amzaedus," Ezinth moans. "I didn't know freaking Elementalists worked with the Amzaedus... what has this world turned into?"

"Yes and we're gonna get rid of all you M.S.A.A. scums," the air elementalist says.

What now?

 

I use a dump shard on this guy

"Okay and who are you?"

 

"Don't do anything funny. Mister with the sword over there can probably do the same to you as he did to your friend."

 

They don't reply and the air elementalist spits out some water.

"An immunologist that works at a hospital you probably don't know or care about. Name is Ezinth," he responds.

 

"I'll burn you if you do anything. Let's keep it at that."
