You're publicly exucted.
Your corpse is thrown out to a field and then eaten by wild animals.

You're a new king.
There are tensions betwwen the plebians and aristocrats.
What do?

 

if there's no bread let them eat cake

 

Throw the aristocracy to the plebians as food

 

The aristocracy threatens you.
You lose some of your power.

 

I use my remaining power over the country and thus the banks to take all their money

 

You hire hitmen to kill the aristocrats that most speak against you, but frame is some plebians did it.

 

You don't own the banks.
It works, but not in the favour of your kingdom.
There are now riots on the streets.
What do?

 

I jump off the highest tower of the castle
Let the new king handle shit

 

Your body crashes down on the road.
A new king is elected. You're appointed a royal advisor.

A neighboring kingdom demands ownership of some of your lands which are close to them.

 

Demand ownership of slightly less of their lands, and hopefully come across as slightly more reasonable.

 

They declare war on you.

 

I send slightly fewer soldiers and hopefully come across as slightly more peaceful.

 

Your army get decimated.
The new king puts you naked in a cage to be eaten by reavens.

You're a new king.
Your people love you while the people of the kingdom you conqured fear and hate you.
What do?

 

Invite anyone with objections to my rule to a diplomatic banquet in their king's former castle. Don't show up, but have my 'diplomats' lock the doors and burn the place to the ground. They clearly don't fear me enough if they hate me as well.

 

Invite everyone to a dinner party with cake and coke.

 

Your plan goes, as planned.. hm.
The new conqured people fear you even more, but the riots died down.
Your royal advisor speaks of possible revolution in the country you conqured.

 

Interrogate him (adviser), he obviously is in on it and acting like he is on your side. Also raise taxes on all but the poor temporarily to establish a puppet army for conquered people to make them feel like I care about their safety.
