Anafenza: "So, where are you all from?"

 

Since we've all been transported to this pocket-world from our original homelands, it's tempting to have Natasha be from Faerün.

But I'm not sure if @SPYROHAWK will be okay with that, since it may cause continuity problems.

Right. Guess I need to retcon her appearance and token slightly, since high elves are either Sun or Moon elves in the Forgotten Realms.

 

So are going to continue talking.

 

I took ages to respond for some reason, but I've retconned Natasha's appearance (and token design) to be consistant with that of moon elves, which basically means that she now has black hair (though still with a blue-dyed highlight) and very pale skin with an extremely slight bluish tint.

"It's... been a long time. I was born in Evereska, but lived for many years in a settlement in the forests of Cormathor, perhaps a day from Myth Drannor... before the Illithids razed it and took us as slaves."

Being Kaelari, you've never heard of any of the places she mentions.

 

Anafenza: "Evereska? Cormanthor? What are those?"

 

Natasha: "Perhaps I can more easily explain if I know from where you hail. It seems that much distance (OOC: and several crystal spheres!) separates our homelands."

 

Anafenza: "I was born in Ner Gurum Citadel on the island of Kaelar."

 

"I have heard of neither. Which would imply that we are from vastly different continents, or different realms entirely."

 

Anafenza: "Interesting."
Anafenza: "What was Cormanthor like?"

 

"Perhaps not quite the largest of Faerûn's great forests, the High Forest would always hold that honor, but by far the most beautiful, touched by the remnants of great mythals of ages past. But not always an easy place to live, for in the eras since our retreat, the drow had returned to the forest and claimed our homeland for themselves... but all those things are memories long in my past, now."

 

Btw as you converse, you go from mountain back to desert. Continue socializing

 

Anafenza: "I don't even know what Faerun is."
Anafenza: "We truly did live in different worlds..."

 

"That would align with the theory of Crystal Spheres which the Illithids hold... it always struck me as odd, to imagine other, entirely different worlds, yet all contained within the same plane... but our meeting would seem to provide evidence to support their beliefs."

Anafenza: "I've never heard anything of crystal spheres."

 

Natasha: "It is... a very difficult concept to explain, and every harder to understand. Simply put, every world, such as my own Toril or the world on which Kaelar lies, is surrounded by a region of space, containing other planets and celestial bodies. The Illithids, and some human and elven scholars, believe that these regions are bounded by Crystal Sphere, impossibly vast, impenetrable shells that serve as a barrier between realms. However, certain magical vehicles, such as those possessed by the ancestors of the mind flayers, were able to penetrate these boundaries and travel between the realms. The records and accounts of those who claim to have traveled in such a fashion claim that there is only one Material Plane, which is composed of infinite Crystal Spheres adrift in a sea of chaotic matter."
