Updated procedures:
Mention to Valkas to watch himself for a moment, then rush at the guy with the book. Attempt to beat the mage-like person into submission, then take his book before returning to Valkas and following previous procedures.

Spoiler: Previous procedures

Follow Valkas and engage those acting aggressively towards me or Valkas, but stay on guard for incoming hostiles. Disarm attackers of their weapons if possible, then render them incapable of combat (pretty much knocking them out, i guess), if possible. If enemy count increases further, warn Valkas of next action before attempting to grab him and flee.

For Alesol:
You run at the book wielder and he starts backing up quickly, looking around for help. He starts chanting (do you want me to place a chant here? .-.). One person from the crowd leaps at you. He(the non-caster) has his hand behind him

For everyone but William and Alesol:
You see the man (Alesol) run into the crowd furiously, pushing over everyone in his way. The crowd just passively parts to the side.

Also, @Nikolai Mael +1FP for using your flaw and charging the mage. Gl with the ambush. >.>

I realize controlling characters is okay, if I describe every character as 'bland' until they remember, which defines their personality (and a backstory for me to work off of. xD)

 

You know... Arya is smart too . . . she's bidding time and seeing what happens before she goes full out, "LET'S STOP EVERYONE WITH ROPES" and stuff.
