corruption is a big bad force that was created by our favorite floating disembodied eye




After it's creation it needed a place to embody so the Nether was a thing, the place were darkness overtook the light.

3000 something years ago maybe The Ancients of Wynn created a blade that tore a hole in space and time and created the Nether Portal; then they could put power in the big crystal things
(theory)



Then they all went extinct before sealing up the portal by collapsing the land around it... this didnt last tho because the humans went mining and found emeralds
(theory)




later they found the portal again and really fucked up the ancient's efforts
(half theory half actually happened)



after a lot of time of excavating in the Nether they uncovered the corrupted army



the mining captain who found them got a blast of corruption perfume and turned into a green
beast ready to copy paste the nether onto the normal world




this did a lot of things; the children could kill an undead before they could even speak properly, the human population went from 100 to 1, and a 1000 year war ensued, also a dernic person jumped in to help too by complete and utter accident



but now its all good because fruma and u.s. government land has come to help

No. As far as we know, The Eye does not know about the Corruption or intend for it. The Eye is spreading darkness, which clashed with the light from Gavel. This clash of opposing forces created The Corruption.

The Nether was created when light and dark clashed, a place where corruption comes from. You imply the nether was a result of the corruption, it's more the other way around

Wrong on so many levels

1) Timeline is wrong. Portal opened at 1000 BVA. We are currently at 100 AVA or something (or is it BV/AV? BA/AA? You get the point)

2) The Ancients lived far far far before then. Humans were already in Wynn for a great deal of time before the portal, and the Ancients were already long gone

3) Where are you pulling this Blade bullsh*t stuff from

4) The Ancients did not make the portal, the portal is just a result of a new realm (The Nether) forming

5) There lots of connections with The Ancients and the Crystals, yes, but they don't really connect to the Nether. What?

Once again, theres nothing about the Ancients collapsing the land?

As humans spread around Wynn, they found this patch of red rock, but generally avoided it. Eventually, they mined it, found the emeralds, and then accidentally unsealed the portal

Once again, there's nothing stated anywhere about The Ancients sealing off the portal. As far as we are concerned, the portal did not form until far after the ancients were gone.

I feel like theres a timeline problem here, but I don't know for sure so I won't argue it

1) Everyone has an INSANLY HARD TIME fighting off the Undead. Not something children could do. Not until after the villagers arrived and brought magic did the people actually get a proper footing to fight back

2) WHAT? Literally only 1 Dernic person jumped in to help, which was Bob, but that was not even intended. Him coming here was as a baby, not as an intention to help. And, heck, Bob even being Dernic is just a theory! (A theory which I will defend to my last breath, because there's no way it's wrong with all the evidence, but still.) People can argue that he wasn't. In which case NO DERNIC PEOPLE JUMPED IN TO HELP

We don't even know WHY Fruma is sending recruits. For the longest time they didn't. But... fair I guess...

BASICALLY this whole thing is dissapointing to me. If you are basing this off of a theory you are working with, then state that parts are theory-driven so new people don't see this and suddenly think it's all fact.

 

Actually, I do remember some NPC in either Ragni, its outskirts, or the tutorial area stating this as an in-game rumor about the humans of Wynn. There is some credibility to OP's statement.

You are 100% correct. Here is the quote from the library:

"The war became so second nature to the province that children were able to kill before they could talk properly."

However, we see how badly the province struggled during the war. Just see the Detlas Cannon exploration thing, that alone should speak to the impact.

I feel like the library is not meant to be saying that children literally learned to kill before they could talk, mainly show how second-nature the conflict had become, but still.

It pisses me off that the library says one thing, but then they changed the whole view of the war without changing the library.
