He points at the queen and king.

 

"Okay, then... are you going to tell me what you're trying to hide, or do I need to dig it out of you?"

"But you have them like this." Anne says, switching them anyways.

 

"Yeah, but they have to be the opposite of each other."

 

"It's something new-ish that I want to try out. The battlefield might not be the best place to try something experimental, but it won't work as well in the Chronoseum."

 

The golems appear to be checking the fruits and vegetables, collecting those that are ripe and leaving those that are not. Some golems appear to serve a different purpose, destroying rotting fruits and pruning the trees. When a golem collects enough food, it walks back to the center island.

 

"Oh... Oh, so the queens have to be on different colors, okay. But... now what?"

Rose opts to fly back to the center island.

"How inhumane is it this time?"

 

"Okay, you start by moving one of the pions in the front."

 

Golems from all around seem to venture toward the center island too, taking items from the other islands toward it. The gigantic tree casts a huge shadow over some of the islands, and millions of birds appear to nest in it's branches.

 

“Uhhh, how inhuman is it to have people drown in their own vomit?”

 

"Liquifying lungs is about par for the course."

"Anywhere?" She asks, carefully stepping over her pieces.

Rose opts to make a small fireball in her hand and holds it, looking into the center as if in a trance.

 

"They can only move 1 square each turn. But, at the start of the game, the first pion you move is allowed to move 2 squares."

 

"Then I'm all good."

 

Nobody disturbs Rose where she is, apart from a few high-flying bugs burning up in the fireball.

 

She tries to use drafts to push other bugs away.

"You realize that'll have no effect on robots, some cyborgs, and most things related to nature, correct?"

Anne pushes the pawn two squares forward, confused.
"Like this?"

 

"Then I'll figure out something else to deal with them. But this works pretty well against any large group of people with working stomachs."

 

"Yes, like that."

Bardock does the same with the pawn on the left.

The bugs are easily pushed away, no longer disturbing Rose.

 

"Okay... now what? Can I only move pawns?"

She continues looking into the fireball before seeming a bit concerned.


An armorless Xlentia steps fully into the Realm of Shadows, looking down at the guards.
"Have you seen the draconian lady who's also a shadow?"

"I think you'd be surprised. Don't go down too fast, alright?"

 

Below, Rose can see Stephanie and Shadow Stephanie heading into the forest, walking towards the gigantic tree.


"Whom?" One of the guards asks.

Xlentia notices Abigail and Katie in the gardens, Katie looking distressed.

 

Rose leaves her bouquet behind, vanishing in a puff of ash.


"Uh... I can't remember her name."
Xlentia shifts her gaze from the guard to Katie, confused.
