Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Gorgon, why?”

You count two chimera with fins... but nothing that looks aquatic.

The wolves don't seem to be around anymore, but she can see footsteps in the snow near to her.

 

"Do you have scales?"

"Got 2, you?"

 

“No, but every snake on my head does.”

“Two.”

She turns towards the footprints, tracing for life signatures.

This specific uniform no, but it seems pretty standard. Rugged clothes, hard hat, heavy boots, thick gloves.

 

Rose soon finds Stephanie and Shadow Stephanie facing off against an evil looking snowman, a darker-furred wolf and what seems to be a metallic owl. They appear to be taking turns attacking each other, strangely.

 

"Don't gorgons usually have the lower body of a snake?"

"Even score then."

 

I fly off once again, scouting around the area for a bit.

 

Rose just heads off towards another island.

"Yes, I just don't have any scales left."

Anne sighs.

The closest thing to "standing out" any individual building does from above is have a flag in the four cardinal directions around it, and it's smaller than a house.

 

"Oh. How come?"

"There aren't much other creatures, are there?"

 

Rose ends up in the rainforest, the clouds gathered over it predictably raining. Colourful birds can be seen sheltering in the trees, and bugs appear to be everywhere.

 

I check the directions, thinking about which way everything is from here.

 

She creates a thin layer of cold between herself and the rest of the air to deter bugs, strolling through.

It seems that everything else is south from here, and the island a bit to the east.

"I'd rather not talk about it."

"No, they all seem to be the same things."

 

I keep the directions in mind as I fly north.

 

"Shed your skin?"

 

The rainforest is thick, and the ground muddy. Rain gets through in patches, though a lot of the trees take the majority of it. Rose eventually comes across the corpse of a young monkey, maggots eating away at it's flesh. It appears to have fallen from one of the trees and broken it's neck.

 

As you go, you find what seems to be the edge of the spread out kingdom and the beginning of untouched wilderness, a vast forest with autumn leaves spanning the rest of the continent.

She just continues on her stroll, catching a few raindrops with her bouquet.

“Part of it, yes.”

 

I decide to hang out on a tree for a bit, sitting on one of the branches.


Meanwhile, Voidfiller jumps through a portal to the Void Palace library, trying to find Emerald.

 

The raindrops are large and heavy, relentlessly beating down on the trees and ground. Rose's cold seems to linger, the rainforest becoming chillier as she passes through.

 

She’s not at the library at all, it seems.

She doesn’t seem to mind, though her footsteps leave frost behind.
