You reach around your belt and can feel a small stack of papers. Around 15 or so. Is that money?
There's also a pouch on the other side. It's decently heavy.

Can you word it for me? All I got is faded and doesn't care for life.

Alesol: “Your next shift is in two hours, make sure you’re rested, you know the drill.”

I’ll head out to the top of the ship. I swear to god if it’s storming...

 

He's sleeping (If you go above deck). >.> Also, you hear footsteps, the sound of someone running. (Reason for you not to go above deck if you want)

Alesol: “I’ll talk to you later about sleeping on the job, but it seems we have a visitor.”


I’ll then run towards the footsteps.

 

"Huh? What?"

He waves you away.

When you go, you realize that the footsteps stopped. Going to where you last heard it, you see a goblin (look at the description for Valkas) leaning over a pile of clothes and picking up a coat.

You inch forward a bit more and see only a pile of clothes on the ground. They must have... disguised themselves? They left your cloak on the ground though. How nice.
You bend down to pick it up and you here footsteps, coming up fast from behind you.

 

I take the cloak and turn to the new figure, digging around in some of my pockets for the old kitchen knife. That thing is really coming in handy.

 

I don't have a description of Alesol Taic for you... >.>

 

Alright, it’s time for physical descriptions.

Alesol is about 5’6”. Tanned skin and faded hair that might have been blonde at one point suggests he works outside somewhere. The guard’s uniform somewhat confirms that. You might hear a low buzzing coming from his position if you listen hard enough.

Alesol: “Halt.. Who goes there, and what is your business here?”

Edit: I assume I have some kind of weapon, but what would a cargo guard even use? I’d assume a knife or something for punching people, but who knows how things work here?

Valkas: "Name's Valkas."
Valkas: "Some bastard stole my cloak, and I chased him all the way here."
Valkas is digging through some pockets on the cloak.

 

Alesol: “That all? Better move along then, before someone mistakes you for a thief.”

I’ll wait and see what Valkas does, and act accordingly.

 

I should mention you guys are in the storage room... >.> Although it is dark, so it is hard to notice in the first place.

 

Valkas nods, takes his cloak, and leaves the ship.

 

This is... strangely calm. .-. Is it a cloak? Or a coat btw?
A muffled thump comes from one of the crates as you start to leave.
"Help!" a muffled voice cries.

It seems to be coming from the most secured crate.

 

Cloak. Complete with some sort of tie to go around the neck.

Valkas stops for a moment and turns to see what the sound is coming from.

 

The crate which no questions can be asked about right?

I’ll go over and check out that box. Knock on it a couple of times.

Alesol: “Uh... hello? I... um... I guess say something if you can hear me.”

 

(It's coming from the crate Alesol is checking [not that he ever gave you his name])
Another thump.
"Is someone there?!"
"Please!"
"Help!"

 

I go over to that crate, pulling out my old kitchen knife.

 

I assume slavery is outlawed. Feel free to mention otherwise.

I guess I’ll have to deal with this eventually.

I’ll try to open the thing, but stay wary of it.
