Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Rose reads through the papers.

There seems to be another smaller kingdom on the other side of a mountain range, and it's extremely spread out. Even houses are a fair distance apart.


She's still there, unconscious.

 

I decide to land near the kingdom, walking to it.

Voidfiller climbs on the pillow in order to check her vitals.

 

There seems to be a fairly detailed rule list, stating how Rose should act and what consequences there would be for breaking rules. Some rules stand out more to Rose. Deciding to quit Praecantatia's training would forfeit all knowledge and any power earned during it; Rose is expected to attend all lessons at any time she's called to one unless she has a strong and valid reason not to; Rose is not to interact or disrupt others unless relevant to the lesson; Rose is not to attack or destroy beings or areas both inside and outside the lesson, unless told to; rules can be subject to change or addition, so Rose should regularly check them to make sure she isn't breaking any. Breaking rules can lead to severe punishment, either physical, mental, spiritual or multiple at once. One of the rules seems to be highlighted, and it is to listen to whatever Praecantatia says and do whatever is asked of her.

"Once you've read all the rules and if you agree to them all, you can sign your name to confirm that you have and do." Praecantatia says.

 

Rose sighs.
"No offense, but this looks horrifically similar to what the Hive Master has everyone not under direct control sign. Minus the lessons."
Pause.
"I hate to say it, but I can't bring myself to sign something that close to the nightmare I already agreed to and broke."

There's roads riddled with pawprints and scratch marks nearby, and no gates whatsoever.

She's fine.

 

I fly up the walls if there are any.

He runs his hand through his already greased-back hair, looking for people around.

 

There aren't.


The offices are closed, and it's about sunset.

 

I stroll right in, checking the area out.

"Ugh."
He says, shaking Keila.

 

"You usually need materials to play games. Unless you know any that don't need any."

 

"I'm sorry, do you not trust me? Do you think I'm the same as the Hive Master?" Praecantatia asks, clearly offended.

 

You seem to be closest to a mine, a bear-like beast hauling a cart of ore.
"Heyo." The rider says, waving.

She doesn't respond.

Rose shakes her head.
"Look, I didn't mean to offend you. I've been exiled, forced to watch my family be butchered, got waterboarded with their blood, and now I'm putting my life in the hands of former enemies who are still rather keen on getting a chance to kill me because anything I'm given is all I've got. It's been a long day, and I can't even trust myself anymore." She admits, losing it.

"We could try and spot certain creatures in the crowd, I guess?"

 

Praecantatia sighs, rubbing her forehead.

"If you stay here, you won't have to worry about people getting to you. Very few people have access to this place." Praecantatia says.

 

"Yeah, let's do that. What creature should we start with?"

 

"Uh... how about a lion? Or any other big cat?" Anne asks, hopping on your shoulder.

Rose nods.
"I didn't mean to draw the parallel. It just... today brought back so many horrors, and I can't look at that paper with remembering another." She admits, guiltily looking down at her feet.

 

"It's the simpler and more modern form of showing you wish to train, rather than simply binding your soul without consent." Praecantatia says.

 

"...If the contract is only for the duration of the lessons and can be considered null and void when I finish or am not present here, I'll sign. I'm never going through soulbinding... not after I saw what they did to Emerald and her siblings." She says, shivering.

 

"It's ended once you've finished, and doesn't apply if you're on a break and are no longer present." Praecantatia says.

 

Rose relaxes a bit.
"Does it also end should I choose to quit, or can it only be terminated by you?" She asks, pricking herself with one of her roses.

 

"Only I can terminate it, but I will if you want to quit. You understand that forfeits all your knowledge and any powers you've earned since you started training, correct?" Praecantatia asks.

 

"Okay, let's start with cat-like creatures."

As he says that, he looks through the crowd and counts as many cat-like creatures that he can see.

 

Rose nods.
"I'd like to keep some memories, but beggars can't be choosers." She says, signing the contract.

There is indeed a lion, a cheetah... does a chimera with the head of a lion count?
