"I know we're desperate for the help, but if you wipe out a habitat, there's not just an easy fallback where we can keep everyone."


She sets the fae and the vines in the top wardrobe drawer.

"Absolutely, I'd wear it every day if I could!"

 

"Well, that might ruin the idea of it, but sure."

 

"I know, I know. I...don't know what I was thinking." I say.


The drawer smells pleasant, a smell of lavender coming from it. It'd probably make any clothes put in there smell the same.

 

"It's so pretty, though!" She says, hopping down and feeling the fabric.

Ihra keeps quiet, unsure of how to respond.


It makes the vebrin sleepy, Miorah closing the drawer before laying down on the bed.

 

I just sit with my head on the table, sighing occasionally.


The bed is warm, though the head area is cool. A softer, warmer smell of lavender comes from the pillow, and the bed is so soft Miorah already feels herself drifting off.

 

I trot around a park to stall for time for things to open.

 

"It is, yes. It would be a shame if we would ruin it by wearing it everyday though, sweety."

 

“True... I need a good place to keep it, though.”

You see the occasional passersby unlock the doors to a shop, and once most of the lights come on, the streets start flowing with a steady stream of people.

Ihra hugs you.


Miorah lets herself drift off, not even bothering to put her head on a pillow or lie under any sheets or blankets.

 

I hug Ihra back lightly.

"Am I in the wrong?" I ask.


Miorah has pleasant dreams of people she loves, not waking until morning.

 

“If I say yes will you go apologize to Artemis?”


She continues laying around until disturbed, weary.

"Speaking of, where do we keep it until the wedding?"

 

"If you say no I'll apologise to Artemis too." I say.


Nobody disturbs Miorah, and the bed makes it easy to keep sleeping.

 

I head to one of the shops, checking it out.

 

Wolf.

“If you don’t have a house, I can keep it here until the big day.”

“Yes you’re in the wrong, and I would’ve been tempted to slap you had she not just up and left.”


She just lays there, awake.

It sells spare game pieces.
...that seems to be all it sells.

 

I sigh, looking guilty.


A warm glow comes from Miorah's fireplace. The room is mostly silent, apart from the birdsong coming from outside.

 

I check out some of the other shops.

 

Pet treats, hair accessories, seeds... everything seems extremely niche.

"What you asked is comparable to the light creatures suggesting they nuke your palace and the city there."


Miorah uses vines to block the light from the fireplace, aiming to make the room pitch black.

 

I make sure nothing flammable is right next to me before flying off, observing from the skies.

 

From above, it looks like there’s four ‘gears’ of people heading some place or another, or four seamless loops. Regardless, it seems to be fairly efficient.

 

I land at the highest point and observe for a bit, trying to figure out what's going on.
