Anime Recomendations

Ciao!

So recently, I told myself that I should try anime. I'd been procrastinating it for abt a year or so, but since I'm bored I guess this is a good a time as any.
I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE with anime at all. I don't know what to watch, what platform to watch it on, nothing.
I'm just asking bc I am very overwhelmed by all the choices.
To answer peoples first questions:
I like almost all genres of TV/Books, save for hammy dramas and overly romantic shows
I love cartoons and fantasy
I don't like any romance (insert media here) or shows/books with overly sexual content (i.e. it's just sex (50 shades of grey) or they put in a needless romance plot)
Don't like pandering creators
LOVE plot/character development

tho if you love plot death note is a great show
another one id recommend is Berserk (my personal all time favorite) but for this id highly recommend reading the manga as the recent anime adaptations look like complete shat, the original anime was like from 20 years ago and the movies leave quite a bit out (for my liking at least but the do look pretty decent) however, be warned, its certainly not for the faint of heart. its a very dark, gruesome and mature story (rated r and all that plus theres a couple sex/nude scenes) but with very interesting themes such as causality, good and evil, pursuing your dreams, sacrifice and all that jazz (basically its really good)
another thing to note tho is that the series began like 30 years ago and is still ongoing so just bear with the first couple volumes it starts to look better along the way lol

In all seriousness some or my favorites include the previously mentioned FMA:Brotherhood, Nichijou, K-On! Nanatsu no Taizai, Konosuba, Noragami, and so much more.

We really should talk about anime more often lol

What streaming service should I use?

 

dont come in contact with anime run while you can before you transform into a weeabo

 

if u want comedy, maybe konosuba?
it has its fanservice but even with that they manage to make some hilarious shit
if u want something more serious, maybe made in abyss (beware of episode 10 tho, thats where shit starts to get a bit goreish and harsh)
both are mostly fantasy so you will probs like both if they fit the rest of stuff
boku no hero academia is quite nice, has its comedy and its serious parts, and since its style is a bit cartoony and quirks are impossible, i guess this fits in the fantasy category a bit?

Spoiler: Konosuba

Basically random guy named Kazuma died in the dumbest way possible, but they offer him a way to come back to his old life back by helping that world by... killing i think, some dude in a world that is like, lets say, SAO but well done (AKA your average RPG)
but it is mostly comedy so half of it is messing around, now there is a quite a bit of fanservice with X character, so dont expect much from that one tho

There are 2 seasons of this one for now

Spoiler: Made In Abyss

There is a seemingly endless hole in certain part of earth, and people built a city around said hole, called Abyss
Riko, one of the 2 main characters, find a humanoid robot, which is surprisingly human-like, which they decide to call Reg, but he remembers nothing about himself, and Riko finds a note (i think) about her mother, which disappeared in the Abyss
Then both escape from wherever they lived (which was an orfanate i think) to explore the Abyss and find out about Reg's past and Riko's mother
But after they enter the Abyss, they can't escape, as they will get heavily affected by the Abyss curse, which takes effect when trying to return up
The deeper you are in the Abyss, the heavier the consequences are

Spoiler: spoiler about episode 10 in case you dont like gore

Btw skip the 2nd half of episode 10 if you dont like seeing characters scream in pain and having his arm broken and poisoned, the next chapters also have its gore scenes, but this one is the toughest in my opinion

Spoiler: Boku no Hero Academia

Mizuki Midoriya is a quirkless guy, and everyone around him has a quirk, which is an special ability, something like, lets say, Size Change, Super Strength, Explosions, Creating stuff out of nowhere...
But one day this guy meets All-might, a really famous superhero that is known as "The sign of Peace"
All-might, recognizes Midoriya as someone who could be worth enough of being the successor of his quirk, One for All
And so, Midoriya accepts, gaining after a long training the quirk of All-might, and trying to get into a superhero school

There are 2 seasons of this one and a 3rd one being aired right now

there might be spoilers in these spoilers tho, so be careful

 

DONT WATCH THE THIRD MOVIE OF BERSECK!!! The first one is awesome, but the third one is.... just don’t watch it.

I recently got into anime. One Punch Man is a great one to start on since it’s short. Attack on Titan is a bit slow sometimes, but overall a good show.

honestly its just a really niche anime manga and people often liken it to a sorta cult thing lol
while the mature and graphic content oftentimes make most people drop it pretty fast, those who stay are *cough* berserk over it kill me
