Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Rose raises her free hand, the heat from the air being drawn towards her hand to create a ball of plasma and an aura of frigid air around her before using the plasma to blast the wall.

“These aren’t cells for criminals, anyways, and our laws are fairly lax. As long as you don’t endanger others, which you aren’t, you can get away with a lot of crap.”

 

"Hm. Say, what is this place, anyways?"

 

“Therus, trading and merchant hub. Dominant in airship tech. Theft and harm to others are pretty much the only serious crimes here. If you can’t tolerate your neighbor’s actions, that’s a lack of tolerance on your end until multiple complaints come in. Maybe a bit too lax, but nobody minds.”

 

"Hm."
I lower my head, pondering a bit.

 

Mel opens a cell door, stopping.
“Well, here’s a decent view. Sword, please?” He asks, holding his hand out.

 

I step into the cell to give myself some space, then take out the sword and hand it to Mel hilt-first.

 

The wall takes a heavy hit, cracking quite severely but not breaking. Another ball of plasma should break it though.

Cid leaps out from the wall, sending a barrage of fireballs toward Rose.

 

A shield of brambles block the fireballs, apparently immune to the flames.

Rose braces herself against the shield before sending a wave of thorned vines rolling through the arena, popping out once they're close to Cid to fire another ball of plasma she'd gathered in the meantime.

He takes it, then locks you in.
"I'll be back in the morning. Call if you need anything, but considering you don't sleep, I can go grab you a puzzle book before I return to my post."

 

Cid rolls to the side once he lands, running away from the vines and around the arena.

 

"That'd be nice, certainly. I'll contact Voidfiller in the meantime."

 

Rose rushes him down, grabbing some of the fragments of the rock that broke off the first hit with vines and attempting to pelt him with them as the bramble shield withers.

Mel nods, heading off.

About twenty minutes later, he returns with a torch, a puzzle book, and a few pencils.
He hands you the book and pencils and lights the candle with the torch.
"Alright, I'll see you in the morning. Your cooperation is appreciated, a lot of people worry they're being arrested or something. Just trying to minimize people on the streets at night is all."

 

I nod, taking the book and pencils and sitting on the floor.
"Be seeing you."

 

Mel waves as he walks off, the cell quiet aside from the occasional footstep or snore.

 

The rock fragments just dent Cid's armour a bit as he gets behind another wall.

 

I wave back, then open the book.


Meanwhile, Voidfiller trots through the big yellow portal in the Void Palace portal room.

 

Rose tries to use a barrage of fireballs to distract Cid as she tries to snare him with vines erupting from the ground as she moves towards him.

Idhaenna preens in her chambers, apparently choosing to ignore him.

 

"Heyo?"
He decides to confront her anyway.

 

Cid seems hardly distracted by the fireballs, even letting them hit him as he quickly tries to evade the vines.

 

She looks up, irritated.
“Couldn’t be bothered to knock?”

The fireballs chill him as they hit, seeming to explode and draw nearby heat back to Rose as she throws a rose ahead of Cil, trying to get into close quarters.

 

"Sorry. Lookin' for Thirteen, have you seen him around? Robo man, no eyes?"
