A Modern Day Fantasy Rp [6/10]

"Shrimp wrapped in bacon with mango salsa and a grilled corn cob"

 

I stare at him for a couple seconds. "Why does that sound really good?"

 

I actually made a mistake. It was supposed to be like, "You're alone . . . and don't know that someone's following you." Nvm, let's roll with this.

"So you may be . . ." A young man's voice says. "...Yet you are freshly injured - you don't seem to pose much of a threat Alister..."

"Er, I think now would be a good time to use that barrier spell." Crow mutters.

Aquila doesn't respond to that statement. Instead, after a couple of seconds, she says, "..I'm not gonna lug you around . . . find someone else to do that..."

As if on cue, Mr. Lopez walks into the room. "What with all the yelli -" he stops abruptly and notices the stretcher. "-Oh hi . . . Aquila, Niko, Kayla . . . what happened exactly...?"

"You're taking Niko," Aquila suddenly says and before Mr. Lopez can ask what she just said, Aquila snaps her fingers and both her and Kayla vanish out of the room. The stretcher is still there.

Now it's just you and Mr. Lopez. "Uh, what just happened?" Mr. Lopez says.

It might help her fire elementalist capabilities a tiny bit although she's already powerful enough in that matter. It won't help her in combat however due to her also being a bow weapons master. Only melee weapon she's good at are knives and bladed metal fans.

Nothing really too shady except for the fact that three black SUVs just went into the 24 hour parking across from the warehouse... What now?

 

"Because it tastes good"

 

"Hm."

What combat value does the ruby necklace have? Besides making empty threats?

 

"Who are you?" I simply call out ready to bring my cane hand to my amulet.

"Uh where exactly would I cast the barrier . . ." I mutter back.

 

You can actually hurt people with it.

Basically think Marvel's superhero "Scarlet Witch" and that's what it does, lol.

(I didn't even know Scarlet Witch existed until after making the necklace while writing all the backstory stuff years ago)

"I don't know," Crow says. "Maybe like, around you?"

"They call me Shade," the man says. "People call me to do their bidding for them, assassinating the people they please. You might be wondering why an otherworlder like you would want to be silenced by someone . . . You'd be surprised."

A man from atop of one of the buildings suddenly jumps off it and lunges at you with two knives.

Before you're able to react, Crow takes over and takes a hold of the amulet creating a barrier to block and push off the man. Then Crow slides back in your mind. "I told you to form a barrier . . ." Crow mutters.

Shade has already gotten up and recovered about to lunge at you again. What now?

 

I try to dodge to the side ditching the cane and then casting the amazing Rodent Defensive System Spell on him.

 

The greatest spell known to mankind... o-o

 

Yeah you’re ablt to dodge his lunge but as you bring up your hand to your amulet, Shade changes the direction of his lunge, tossing one kife in the air, grabbing and throwing away your hand from your amulet using his free hand. He then catches his knife and proceeds to do a series of swipes while you’re thrown off guard. You get a couple cuts on your arms and chest as you try to counter his swipes. Shade then retreats and desummons his knives while summoning a long sword.

“I thought you would be a challenge, Alister,” Shade mocks. “Not as powerful as you think, huh?”

“Now would be a good time to use the home teleporting jinxpiece...” Crow mutters.

 

“I don’t want the others to get hurt,” I mutter back.

“Just why are you so eager to kill me?” I say while waving my knife around.

 

Crow sighs frustratedly.

Shade shrugs. “I’ve been needing a challenge. And my client wants you dead.” He then charges in with his longsword. What now?

 

(I'm not sure where I interrupted @BlueSlimerino and @MistaTigger convo so tell me when I should join back in. >.<)

 

I grab my amulet and fling a fireball at him before attempting to sureound him in a ring of fire.

 

Shade barely dodges the fireball. He obviously didn’t anticipate it. While he’s busy recovering, you surround him in a ring of wizard fire. However, he simply vanishes in a heap of smoke and reappears outside the circle. He desummons his long sword and goes back to two knives and lunges at you again.

 

I retreat and send another fireball.

 

Shade goes faster forwards than you can go backwards and you recieve a stab to the gut before you can send a fireball. However, as he’s about to finish you off, the familiar sound of a gunshot makes it’s arrival as a bullet wound forms in Shade’s right hand throwing him off. He vanishes and reappears a couple yards off you. You both notice a 17 year old boy in a suit with a walking cane and a gun in his hands walk down to your little paused fight.

Shade glares at him. “Who are you to interrupt our fight?”

The boy chuckles, the crow atop his cane gleaming. “ You don’t need to know that.” He smiles evilly. “Call me Dirtyhands.”

“I’ll get you one day ‘Dirtyhands’ and you’ll regret ever crossing my path,” Shade declares.

That only makes the boy smile more. “Barking dogs never bite.”

Shade only spits at him before vanishing in a heap of smoke. What now?

 

You did not just . . .

I stare at his demeanor while clutching my new wound and going for my cane. “...Thanks...but who are you?”

I swear the Wraith is somewhere nearby.

 

“Like I said,” the boy’s raspy voice starts, “you don’t need to know that.” He then says, “I see you have a couple wounds,” he smiles. “My group can heal you if you wish...”
