Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'd rather not, frankly."

 

“Rose.” She says, accepting it. “So... shall we get going?”

“Nobody here’d blame you.” Mel snickers.

 

I grin and just continue walking.

 

Another guard waits at the bottom of the stairwell.
“Another one?”
“Yeah, an outsider. Any window cells open?”
“All of them. He cooperative?”
“Yeah. I’ll mark down the cell on my way back.”
“Aight. Rest easy, traveler.” The other guard says with a nod, stepping out of the hall.

 

I smile and nod at the guard, then start making my way down the hall.

 

Mel passes you halfway through, turning left at an intersection.

 

Cid nods, heading toward the arena.

 

I follow him, looking at the state of some of the cells.

 

Rose follows, content.

They’re fairly well kept, the beds made of slightly rusted metal but with actual mattresses on top of them. Each room has a candle and a sink along with the bed and a curtain around the bed to offer privacy.

 

Cid heads to one of the arena's entrances, not checking back for Rose as he heads in.

 

"Are you going to confiscate my weapons?"

 

Rose opts to fly around and go through one of the other entrances, curious.

 

Cid eventually steps through his side in full armour, claws extended and ready.

 

“Your sword, I will. Anything else concealed, eh? If you resisted, we’d pat you down and take more stuff, but overnight cells have lax rules. You cause no problems, we give no problems. Being out late’s just a safety concern, not a crime.” Mel shrugs.

Rose steps through as well, looking no different.
“Shall we begin?”

 

"No, but I also have a giant spiked hammer that could cause a lot more property damage."
I tap on it.

 

“Okay, you could probably bend the bars and walk out if you wanted. If you want it confiscated, sure. The trust based system here works until you do something wrong, and you’ve done literally nothing at all. Nobody’s afraid of you.”

 

"Okay. Just thought I'd mention it, if you are to take anything."

 

“I am required to take one weapon, if you are carrying any, from you. The sword looks like something you’re more likely to come back for if you got bored and broke out.”

 

Cid nods, before darting behind a wall.

 

"You'd be correct."
