Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"You could try asking people if they'd like to fight." Amelia suggests.

 

Rose nods.
“That seems a bit out of place here, but it’s better than standing around and looking lost. Thanks again, Amelia.”

 

"What is your job, exactly?"

 

"For now." He laughs.

 

Amelia smiles.

"No problem." Amelia says happily.

 

“Night watch. Pretty boring. Stand around near a campfire, throw an arrow towards anything suspicious.” He shrugs. “Arrest anyone that doesn’t look like they should be out for the night.”

Rose heads down closer to the arena before using her veil as wings to fly and look down in it from above.

“Hey, take what you can get.” He laughs as well.

 

The arena appears to be quite large, and the floor looks dented with impacts. It almost looks like meteors have struck the arena. Stone walls seem to be placed around the arena to provide cover, or a vantage point.

 

She lowers herself in, curious to get a closer look as she sweeps the stands.

 

"...Doesn't that stray you from your post? Seems unplanned."

 

The impacts all seem to have irregular shaped craters. Instead of there being a circular dent in the middle, it appears to be malformed. They seem to all come from different directions too, some with marks leading up to them, as if a meteor rolled along the ground and then impacted.

 

“There’s twenty of us, and not much gets by the airship patrols.”

She flies up and looks around for nearby fire guardians.

 

"Ah. Didn't see anyone with you."

 

There seem to be a few fire guardians practicing their aim, throwing fireballs at fast moving and randomly appearing targets on a range.

 

"Take what you can get indeed."

"She does know fire magic, so I should be a little more careful about pissing her off."

 

“That’s sort of the point.”

“Oh, yeah. Burnt hair, feathers, or fur smell horrible.”

Rose approaches the range, avoiding being downrange.
She waits for one to finish before approaching them with an “Excuse me?”

 

"Fair enough."

 

"Yes?" The fire guardian responds.

 

"Don't have to tell me twice."

 

“I was wondering if there would be anyone interested in a duel. I’m curious to see if my age has gotten the best of me. Do you know anyone?” She asks.

“Already been through that?”

“If you see all of us, it’s sort of dumb. I mean, if you struggle, we’ll keep coming until you don’t. If they don’t, you don’t need twenty people on them.”

 

"I wouldn't mind testing my fighting prowess." The fire guardian says, flexing a bit.
