I motion towards Kayla.
"in this game?" (Yes, I know you probably told me before, I'm asking for confirmation. >.<)

 

"Why did you shoot her?" I ask. "Weren't you the one who said, 'No more big scenes Hunts Alone'? I thought you were just going to follow them, not actually try to kill them. Look what happened. Now we have to worry about all of that girlie's friends marching into with warehouse demanding revenge because you almost killed her. So why did you shoot?"

 

"...Because she volunteers herself to be in the crossfire and tries to stop evil from winning . . ." Aquila pauses. "...And because I told her about the Magia Tenebris resurrecting themselves . . ."

"They're gifted that aren't allied with us making them a threat," Averill says with some ferocity. "I wasn't the one who got them on our tails in the first place."

 

I ignore his insult. "Maybe you should realize that you can't just go walking wherever you want and shooting all the gifted you like. This isn't Hanalea. This isn't even our world. So you have to learn the rules here or get killed doing something deemed illegal."

 

"... This may be insensitive... but what makes them evil?"

 

I forgot about Crow . . .

"You're telling me to ditch and forget everything I learned and grew up by Hunts Alone," Averill growls. "Maybe you should try doing what you just said yourself, thief."

"Killing isn't allowed in this world?" Crow murmurs. "How strange."

"...Their methods . . . and the divine being they plan to summon . . . The Magia Tenebris does mass genocide . . . They kill huge amounts of people . . . in just one attack . . . They burned down whole villages, whole towns, whole cities . . . They kill . . . they kill . . . and they kill. To summon Chaos . . . they need to start chaos . . . And now they're in New York . . ."

Suddenly, you hear some groaning and moving which causes Aquila to stop. Kayla's eyes flutter open, trying to adjust to the light. She finally then relaxes taking in her surroundings. She turns her head towards you, and then Aquila. "...What happened....?" she asks her right hand going to her left shoulder.

 

"What's happening now? I finally got Quila over to to promise to not freeze my food again."
"How do you feel? Aside from shot, tired, and... uh- hungry?"

 

"Yeah this world likes trying to keep everyone alive oddly." I mutter back.

"It's called adjusting Averill," I say back. The I sigh. "I would love to argue with you all day and win but right now, we need to focus on trying not to die to the government because of our friend over here," I say nodding my head at Averill. "And we need a more reliable money income . . . Anyone have ideas?"

 

Yep. We like to keep people alive. Quite funny really.

"....I feel pain........" Kayla says weakly. "....Seriously.......what happened.......?"

"Our government never cared about the people's lives," Crow says. "Strange world we're in right now..."

"We should get the whole group to discuss this topic," Wilo suggests.

"We could all try to get jobs . . ." Raisa says.

"We need to learn more about the gifted first," Averill mutters. "We need to know what our enemies have against us."

"I'd say money income is more important right now Averill Lightfoot," Wilo says. "We need money to survive first."

"But our enemy can strike at any time and silence us all," Averill mutters. "We need to deal with them first. Worry about the money later."

"Copperheads are stupid," Crow murmurs.

I sigh.
"They shot and poisoned you so we took your assailant. Using him as leverage, we tried to get a cure for you. Tensions rised (... was rising? What word should go here? >.<) and they went make on their word. So we attacked and used Cuffs as leverage. Now you've been cured and their team is fine..."
"Aside from that."
I turn to Aquila.
"You're gonna go out with me and we're gonna eat a sundae to pay me back for what you did."

 

Cuz Aquila is lazy

". . . I guess I owe you all one . . ." Kayla murmurs. ". . . Did anyone else get hurt . . . ?" she asks.

 

Rip half my response. I suppose I'll stop joking around. >.>

I shrug.

I start counting off my fingers.
"James for attacking your assailant."
"Your assailant for attacking you."
"And their leader for attempting to back out of their promise."
"Unless you mean mentally? Probably Jay with all those rodents." RIP Jacket, will be remembered.

 

“...How badly did they all get hurt...?” Kayla murmurs. She then tries to sit up but fails due to being extremely weak and only having one working arm at the moment. Aquila comes over to help but Kayla just says it’s fine. What now?

 

"Better than how you are, that's for sure." (I don't know how devastating the poison is is I'm assuming it was worse than everything else since we could at least heal everything else.)

 

Well the arrow itself did plenty of damage. It literally crushed the area where the clavicle and humerus meet and all the muscle there as well. She would’ve died a long time ago if not for Arya being a character lol.

So let’s compare:

James: A minor slash to the chest
Averill: A somewhat major slash to the chest
Alister: A deadly accurate shot that can cause internal bleeding
Kayla: A deadly poisonous arrow that crushed two bones, some muscle, and can cause internal bleeding.

“...That’s good...” Kayla winces as she repositions herself. She then says, “...Why are we in a merting room...?”

 

"Hi, so what did you get?"

 

I shrug.
"I needed to talk to the medic alone and everyone was in the infirmary."

 

Kayla looks like she has a lot more questions regarding the situation but she doesn’t ask them. Instead, she says weakly, “...So what do you plan on doing now...?”
