Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“If you’re asking me to leave, then I will. I don’t want to cause any trouble.”
I say in a sincere but monotone voice.

 

"I hope so too. Thank you."

 

Amelia suddenly flies upwards with her wings, looking around in the air before floating down again. She then starts walking foward and to the right.

 

"No, there's a whole shopping list of questions we have for outsiders, so if you don't mind going along with protocol and have us sit you at a table and lock you in the room until a captain wakes up, I'd appreciate it."

Rose's veil turns into a pair of ashen wings.
"If flying's easier on you, I can keep up."

"No problem. You only get one, yeah? No sense in not making it count."

 

"Gotta make it count. We still need to plan a date though."

 

"Well, one step at a time. Cities aren't built overnight."

 

"I know, I know. Gotta get the suits first anyway."

 

“Sure, that’s fine. Lead the way.”

 

He takes out a pair of handcuffs, holding one cuff open.

“Well, you should get back. Happy wife, happy life, so you best not keep her waiting if she’s back already.”

 

"Yeah. I should get that going."

"Could you lead me back to town?"

 

I hold out my wrist.

 

“Yeah, sure.” He says, taking off and circling you a bit.

He puts one cuff on, tightening it slightly, then the other.
“I know it’s sort of dumb to say now, but nothing personal.” He says, walking towards a campfire.

 

"Right."
I nod as I walk alongside him.

 

"Frankly, I doubt these things could hold you, but you're putting up one hell of a facade if you're a threat in disguise." He says, grabbing another pair of cuffs off a post and hooking them to his belt and pocketing the key.
"Alright, we've got two groups of cells. One's built into the side of a cliff, if you're into seeing the sunrise, and the other involves too many stairs for me to usually bother. I hear there's a decent view there for window cells as well. Why the overnights have better views than most houses is beyond me, but that's above my paygrade. Anyhow, I'll march you to whichever block you want. Really doesn't make a difference on my end."

 

"After we've returned, I think I'll go to Arga's immediately. I think I've been away for about an hour now."

 

"I just wanted to get my bearings, I can walk." Amelia says, smiling.

 

"A sunrise cell would be fine. And, yes, if these handcuffs aren't magical, they're barely holding me. Oh, and a friend of mine might be flying over to pick up this."
I gesture to the clump of fabric in my hands.

 

“Best just to wait there, probably. If you’ve ever ticked off a lady before... you’d know why.”

“That from the island kingdom?” He asks, bringing you towards a forested path.

Rose nods, veil reverting.

 

"Yes, I believe so. I don't know the terms used around here."

 

"I might have... in a different way."
