Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"I'd love to tell you stories about home, but I lived in the domain of an utter warmonger and was forced to kill to be allowed to see the rest of existence. None of them are pleasant, and now I'm exiled from that damnable place."
Pause.
"That's why I was hoping to start over in this reality. Do what I love; seeing people in love, being an officiant, healing the wandering soul-seeker who stumbles across my path." She says dreamily. "I'm sick of war, even if it's the one thing I was raised upon."

 

"Well, there's little conflict here. If there any signs of any kind of war, Lady Gaia puts an end to it. If you go around trying to kill people, you get sent to hell." The fire guardian says.

 

"I take it this is effectively a peaceful place for people to live out an afterlife?"

 

"Yeah, that's true. But a company cares more about the amount profit they get."

"Ofcourse, they want their costumers to be happy so that they'll keep coming."

 

"A paradise for those of us who proved ourselves worthy of it." The fire guardian says happily.

 

Rose smiles, then looks solemnly at the ground before sighing.
"Well, uh... if you don't mind me asking your name, I'm Rose."

"And that balance is why I didn't get into business." The hawk laughs.

 

"Amelia." Amelia says, offering a handshake.

 

"Yeah, it's hard to get a business running. Involves a lot of luck and skill."

 

Rose accepts it.
"Nice to meet you. It's... like what my reality's Gaia offered her children. But... more accommodating."

"And math. I hate math."

 

"Oh, does your reality have the same gods as us?" Amelia asks.

 

"No, not at all. Gaia is the goddess of life, earth, and protection. Then we have my old accursed master, Atavul; god of war, fire, and rebirth. Then there's Virei'tus; god of light, judgement, and balance. Xlentia, goddess of darkness, destruction, and decay... O'rogal, god of water, history, and magic; Idhaenna, goddess of stars, air, and space... and that's all of the big names." Rose says, seeming to have some problems recalling every god and their attributes.

 

"Not good with numbers or is it just too difficult?"

 

"That's really different. How is one called Gaia then?" Amelia asks.

 

"She just is. I don't know why names were chosen the way they were, but in fairness, she is still the goddess of life."

"That's...just plain odd." Amelia comments.

 

"Eh.. I can calculate a bit, but I'm not a professional or something."

 

"Well, how did your Gaia get her name?"

"Hopefully you won't need to, either. Numbers are hard, and people who are good with them are harder." They laugh.

 

"I...don't know." Amelia says, looking defeated.

 

"Nothing wrong with that." Rose says, smiling. "But, uh... again, would you mind showing me around a bit?"

 

"Sure thing." Amelia says, taking a step forward.
