Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

I fly around for a bit, checking for any other land masses.

 

"You're talking about the storm, right?
Yeah. Lots of people and animals didn't survive it."

 

"The blow was nothing." Mortius responds.

 

Xlentia pauses.
"Oh. My apologies. Maybe we are nothing to you..."

"Did you get your family out?"

There's a continent a short ways out.

 

"You have power. You simply cannot kill me." Mortius responds, his voice bringing up painful memories in Xlentia's mind.

 

"I don't know.. I thought they ran into the forest."

 

Xlentia shudders, then seems confident.
"Thank you. I... Thought I erased those. Maybe my old self is still somewhere within..." She rambles, before cutting the link.

"Well, I hope they're safe. Nothing sucks more than returning to ruins."

 

Xlentia can't seem to cut the link, there doesn't seem to have been one to begin with...

 

"Yeah. I already had to do so once, and I don't want to do it again."

 

She doesn’t seem to notice, curling up in her chambers and closing her eyes with a smile.


Rose enters the Realm of Shadows, but keeps away from the palace, kneeling.
“Lady Tenebrae,” She whispers, “I hope I’m not distracting you from relevant pleas from your children, but I forgot to ask what you will require of me as a result of my debt.”

“You... oh, right, you were there when the storm started.”

 

"Your debt?" Tenebrae asks.

 

"Yeah. But as a kid I returned to the ruins of my home town. I still visit it sometimes."

 

“Of course, surely I owe you something for calling upon your strength? As well as Lady Praecantatia, but I worry she will strike me for the harm I caused instead of the harm I prevented.”

“Oh... you weren’t grown up in the wild?”

 

"I wasn't expecting anything in return for my help. Should a problem arise that you would be able to fix, I shall ask of your help then." Tenebrae says.

 

Rose seems surprised.
“...Thank you, Lady Tenebrae. Um... if you wouldn’t mind adding a second favor to your tab, might you tell me where I could find the realm of your Gaia?”

 

"Only she can allow you to access it. However, I shall speak to her and see if she will open a portal for you." Tenebrae explains.

 

“Does your king not go there often with his guardian partner?”

 

"No. Not many living are granted access under normal conditions." Tenebrae says.

 

“Oh, Earth is not considered her domain?”

 

"She created Earth, though her own realm is...elsewhere." Tenebrae says.
