Hey, I’m SPYROHAWK and seem to be the #1 source of DnD on the forums.

I have never played pathfinder, so my opinion is completely biased, but imo DnD is the way to go. I’ve been in countless 5e campaigns both as a player and as a DM and I can tell you, it’s a blast

1) it would be easier for people to answer if you asked them all in one thread
2) the DnD subreddit is probobly going to give better answers than this

 

I think it's subjective.
It also depends on what version you're playing on.
from what I know, the most popular versions are ad&d 1e and 2e, (regular) 3.5e, and the newest, 5e, all of which are different.
Pathfinder is an evolution of D&D 3.5e (after 4e flopped). It's a different brand and plays differently, even though it was based on D&D 3.5e. I believe that Pathfinder got a second edition a few months ago.
