the first time i heard it i heard yanny tho
now i can switch what i hear if i focus enough

Its Laurel. The original sound was Laurel, and since Yanny and Laurel have similar frequencies, all that was done was the frequency was upped. Typically newer ears hear Yanny, meanwhile older/more used ears hear Laurel.
