"It's fine."

The suit sort of folds open to allow me to step inside, then it begins to close and seal around me. The whole process takes a few minutes, as the suit seals and then boots up.

 

“...Where are you going to keep it when you sleep?”

 

"I can take it off. It's a bit of a slow process, but it's possible. I just keep it on these suspensions when I'm working on it."

After the process is done, the helmet folds closed around my head, and the visor (as well as various other points on the suit body) light up as I look around. A series of seven small diodes on the side of the right gauntlet also light up.

The various cables and supports connected to the suit detach and pull away.

 

Yeah ! Light ! Perfect to be seen from far in night !

 

“So, what can it do?”

 

"Physical protection, strength enhancement, energy projectiles, shock weapons built into the hands, flight... hopefully, assuming it works."

"It's also got a sort of rudimentary sentience, which lets it assist me with neurological tasks, effectively expanding my mental capacity."

"There's also plenty of room for more upgrades... now, how would you like to leave? Door or window?"

 

A wild grin escapes my face.
“Window.”

 

"Great. How much do you weigh?"

 

“I’ll fly my own self, thank you very much.”
I say, faking sass.

 

Or, you know, I could just turn them off, since they're purely cosmetic.

"Noted. I can't get quite as fast as you can with that spell of yours, but mine has the obvious advantage of being constant, and not dependent on concentration."

I walk over and open the window.

 

“Eh. Last good spell I think I can use for the day anyways.”
I follow you over to the window.

 

Kazuki: "Yes. There are a lot of preparations to make. These papers hold valuable information on my studies, and can be of use to any tinkerers we have..."

 

I jump out the window, and, as I begin to fall, activate the magical propulsion system built into the back and boots of the Mechplate, taking flight.

“Not gonna lock up?”
I ask, taking out my Rod again.

 

The wind creates a melody. A peaceful one? Up to you.
The distant sound of a helicopter looms closer.

 

"F*ck."

I fly back inside and lock the door, then fly back out the window.

"We're going to need to fly low. We can't outfly a helicopter, so we need to avoid notice."

 

“Right.”
I cast fly on myself, then get out the window and start following you.

 

You never said that you turned the light off when going outside :D

What ? I'm trying to make you fight another monster because I find that funny ? That's totally false ! I think...

 

I shut the window, then take off back towards the shop, staying low-ish to the ground.

EDIT: I also dim the lights on my armor, even though they're cosmetic and don't really do anything, because Alexis is being annoying.

 

While in your flight, you can barely make out a black helicopter.
