[d&d] The Fall Of A City [8/8]

"Well, it's real fun. We'll start flying once we get off this thing."

 

The monorail goes above what looks to be a junkyard of scrap metal and dirt piles. Different colored crates and storage containers litter this area.

After that, the monorail goes above the building to the right of the sushi restaurant and drops you guys off.

 

Once we get off at the juncture, I turn to Daniel and bring out my Rod.
"You ready?"

 

Kazuki: "My grandfather was a cop, so I was in training for the police force. Sadly, it turned out it wasn't for me. I'm stronger mentally than physically. As a result, I dealt in some detective work. My parents were... Quite wealthy, so I had a nice start, and detective work doesn't pay poorly. *chuckles* Now if only I was in anything resembling a good position socially... What do you generally do?"

Kazuki: "It would be nice if you could carry the food. I have some... Er... Other things to bring."

 

Sanik writes the info, and open the next folder :

I nod.

OOC: I need to go do family stuff in a few minutes, should take less than an hour.

 

I touch the two of us and cast Fly, then start soaring towards the sushi shop.
"Try and keep up!"

 

"Ah... this isn't too different from my thruster experiments. Mostly just harder to... woah... control acceleration."

I quickly get the hang of it and take off after you.

 

I look back at you and smile, then just continue flying.

@Nem , it'd be good to have a timer on how long this takes us.

 

"Well, I used to be a... soldier of sorts. Fought a bit, then left after a particularly nasty incident. I became a security guard soon after. Then all was fine until I started seeing these monsters. But when I spoke of it, I was given the boot. 'Must be something that happened during his time as a soldier,' they said. 'Old Rikane's finally gone senile,' they said. Besides, they were due an upgrade, and this finally gave them a reason to let me go. Nowadays, I just... live, I guess."

"Will do."
I'll start packing the food into my pack.

 

You hear an odd laugh above. It isn't human.

 

I look up as I'm flying.

 

From the building to the right to the shop by flight would take at least 5 minutes, max 8.

 

I look up, continuing to fly.

 

The laugh comes from a group of monsters, very high up. They don't approach, they just stare and smile with contorted faces.

 

I imagine that I see the same thing?
I just continue making my way to the shop, speeding up.

 

If Daniel follows, you make it there.

 

"I'll just place it in the corner."

She pushes it towards the corner, which takes some time, and climbs back up the ladder.
"What more?"

 

I quickly go inside and hold the door open for Daniel.

 

Inside the folder is a document containing text.
"Very little is known about this place that closely resembles a cave system. NOD.DEG doesn't interfere with it, neither does A.R.M.A.."
