[d&d] The Fall Of A City [8/8]

Kazuki: "The name is Kazuki."

Also, I don't believe I've described my physical appearance.

Kazuki is a boy in his late teens. Blonde hair, blue eyes, rather pale skin. He wears a fedora and trenchcoat with an ARMA badge on the left shoulder (both of which he currently is not wearing). Under it is basically a suit with a blue tie. On his right side is a pistol in a holster. There is a katana strapped to his back.

 

The documents are blank.

The corpse looks like it has an odd coating of moving electricity.

Suddenly, one of the flying beasts dives into the alley and grabs Daniel's rifle before disappearing along with the other ones above into the clouds. They screech as they ascend.

 

"Oh, fuck."
I turn my attention to the beasts.
"Is that gonna be a problem?"

 

"Pinky": "I think anywhere where there's room is fine. We can always move it later."

She climbs back up the ladder.

 

So let's check that now

 

I finish my dinner noticeably quickly.

Kazuki: "I'd better pack some stuff up. If I can sneak a spare mattress there, then... Anyway, food first."

I go to the cabinet to grab some energy bars, chips, cereal, bread, fruit, beef jerky, and assorted chocolates. I then go take out a cooler, open the fridge, and grab some water and apple cider, along with some butter and eggs.

 

"Shit! I was really starting to like that gun. Ugh, we're going to need to make a detour. My apartment's not too far from the shop, it's in that building shaped like a circle with a wedge missing. We're going to need to pick up some stronger firepower."

OOC: I was too hasty with my choice of subclass, and it turns out that Cannonsmith is kind of boring to play. I'm making a little swap. I also retconned my stats and some of my backstory. The only significant change for you is that I never mentioned being able to see/hunt monsters before we went to the A.R.M.A.'ry.

 

Inside the folder is a document containing a picture and text.

The picture shows a gigantic factory, surrounded by fences, lights, and warforged guards. Whoever took this photograph had to have been far away from the place.
"The Zero is a factory in the North-East section of the city. Whoever manages or runs it is unknown, as there is no sign of NOD.DEG affiliation when looking at the factory from the exterior. No aircrafts are allowed to fly within The Zero's airspace and will be shot down after failure to comply with the strict rule."

 

OOC: Alright.

"Let's stop at the shop first."
I walk over to the milk and pick it back up.
"But we should move a bit faster."
I continue towards the monorail.

 

"Right. Let's move."

 

Sanik write everything on his phone, and goes on the next folder.
The Siphon and The One At The Top

 

I hastily make my way to the monorails, getting on the one nearest to departure and going to Riven, then getting off.
If nothing interrupts us (@Nem ), we can continue?

 

"An unusual name, but I shouldn't talk. I go by Rikane. So what do you do, aside from this monster business?"

Also, now that you bring it up, I never described my physical appearance either.

Rikane's an old halfling, let's say he's about... 50-60 ish. He wears an old guard's uniform that's clearly seen better days. He currently has weighted gloves on. There's a pistol in a holster on his right side, a couple of sheathed knives on his left hip, and a longsword strapped to his back.

I take a bit longer to finish the meal.
"Anything in particular you want me to carry along?"

The camera angle is from a busy street. The picture shows an absurdly tall tower. The top of the tower can't be seen through the clouds. Lightning bolts snake into the darkness above it.
"The Siphon, possibly the most terrifying thing in this hellhole besides the flying and crawling creeps. Only officials and V.I.P.'s are allowed to enter this seemingly endless tower and the top has never been seen. It it the center of the entire area of the city and is also the center of attention in the NOD.DEG Corp District.
"The One At The Top refers to the person running the city and NOD.DEG. They've never been seen either, and I don't doubt that they would rather stay that way."

Before you depart, a rack full of newspapers is knocked over near you as you enter the nearby Sayon station. The newspapers fly everywhere, some being caught by pillars in the building.

"I think there's another Cloaker on our tail. And a rather clumsy one."

 

A strong gust of wing proves you wrong, as it knocks a plant over in the station.

 

"Let's move. Now."
I say harshly, going towards the monorail to get to the shop.

 

"Or just a storm. Still, I agree."

I follow you at a brisk pace.

 

"Have you ever flown before?"
I ask in a hushed tone.

 

"Yes. Not exactly by a spell, but... similar principles, probably."
