[d&d] The Fall Of A City [8/8]

Just remember, dickish characters should be endearingly dickish, not abrasively.

 

I mean, he'll be rather cold at first, but he'll warm up and be not dickish.

 

There’s the people you’ve been seeing around the street corner sitting down around a console.

You head upstairs to a short hallway. There’s two open doors. One to the left and another at the end of the hall. There’s light in the room at the end of the hall and a T.V. turned on.

 

Sanik go looks at the TV.

 

A tape plays as you enter the room, there’s a warforged guard in here too.

 

Interesting. I guess introductions will have to wait.
I’ll take a seat and wait for something to happen.

 

"So you've decided to join us."

 

Kazuki (muttering): "Well, if the tape is anything to go off of, I guess we do need a few more than 3..."

 

“It would appear so.”

 

I go to the other room, and probably go down.

 

The farther you climb down the ladder, the colder it gets. Once in the basement, you see a console in the middle of the room surrounded by the people you saw hanging around the sushi restaurant sitting down in chairs. The walls are painted a nice black and are covered with empty picture frames. Three vaults are lined up against the back wall, one is opened and empty, the other two remain closed.

“Welcome to the A.R.M.A’ry”

 

Kazuki (muttering sarcastically): "Very clever..."

 

Sanik : "What do we earn for helping you ?"

 

Kazuki: "We... We don't know, he's going to brief us shortly. Take a seat."

 

Sanik : "Pfff."
Goes to a seat

 

I go up the stairs, hand on my sword (I know, I’m slow, I’m sorry)

 

I like how we enter at the same time, but then I go upstairs, watch a video, go in a basement, take a seat, and you're still at the door of the shop XD

 

“Great”
The lights surrounding the console dim until the room becomes dark.
“It is imperative that you listen closely once more to all the information I am about to give you.”
The image of the racecar helmet man fades to black. A map of the city is displayed on the console.
“This is a map of the beloved city you all recognize and love so dearly. Monsters have been appearing around the city, even after being confirmed to be extinct for ages before now. Shortly after these monsters began appearing to certain people, temperature and weather has fluctuated, citizens have become more violent, and people have begun to panic. It is your task to eliminate these monstruous threats and eventually delete the source. There is a minor setback, however.”
The screen displays an eerie pixel art image of everyone in the room (and those to come that aren’t already down in the basement).
“Only those with a special trait are able to perceive them. That’s you. Say hello.” “This trait is magic. Never heard of it? Perfect. Now you know. It is imperative you learn to use your magic efficiently or perish trying.”
“As of now, we have few ideas of what could be causing these monsters to seemingly return the past, but NOD.DEG has gone too silent following the first appearances of monsters.”
An image of the tallest building in the city, which is in the center of the city map, is displayed on the console.
“Find out what their plans are. Breach their systems and gain access to what they know. . . Obviously, we cannot do that now. We have less heads than we could hope to have. They have gone missing. Your first mission is to find the missing members of A.R.M.A. With them, we will be stronger.”
The console displays an image of a mask with an eye printed onto it.
“These masks are worn by what the A.R.M.A. refers to as ‘Eyes’. We suspect they are working closely with the monsters in some way. It is imperative that you avoid them or eliminate them quietly.”
The console shows the helmet man again.
“It is imperative that you take caution in everything you do. Lay low, stay unseen. Do not speak of A.R.M.A. to anyone. Do not trust most.”
“As for the missing members, we have no images of them. We only have the image of a single member.”
An image of a female teen with pink hair appears on the console.
“The reward for eliminating the monster threats are saving your city and if that isn’t enough, preventing your death.”
“My name doesn’t matter, but the name of this game is survival.”
The console screen turns black and displays the text: “GLHF”
The lights return.

You see two doors open, one at the end of the short hallway and another on the left. The one at the end has a T.V. on.

 

I take the initiative by standing up and saying,
"Well, fuck!"

 

Sanik : "Wow what a great speech."
*Applause.*
Sanik : "But do I have a face that looks like I care about the people ? If you found me and gave me that paper, then you know my past, you could have done a bit better ! And come on, 'You got the power to see monsters', personally I didn't see much strange ugly things around. And if we need to not trust anyone, why would I even trust you ?!"
