Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

Shadow Stephanie climbs back out.


"Or here! We're still allowed to kill certain animals to eat but never for sport." The water guardian says.

 

The rat keeps running ahead.


“If I had my way, I’d give any of those hinters I saw a little taste of this...” Xlentia mumbles, gently exhaling a tiny jet of black and purple flame skywards.

Or seen it. She’s on the coast.

 

Shadow Stephanie sneaks around, looking around the room.


"Axolt and I would certainly make sure they wouldn't breathe air again." The water guardian says, sounding angered.

 

"The village was on the coast?"

 

She slips into an office with someone asleep at the desk, the rat waiting outside in the hall.


“It’s sort of strange to me you don’t have a dragon god here.”

Sort of. I mean, there’s a little cliff and then water. I think.

 

Shadow Stephanie looks over the person at the desk, seeing if they're her target.


"Why would we have one? Gaia's the goddess of all that's living." The water guardian says.

 

“Nothing wrong with seeing flowers.”

 

They match one of the pictures, yes.


“Oh, I thought she was just of guardians and nature.”

“Start there?”

 

"Say hi to Mortius for me." Shadow Stephanie says, taking her knife as she pulls up the target's head, making a deep cut across their throat.


"Who would be the goddess of the animals and humans?" The water guardian asks, amused.

 

Their throat winds up revealing wood splinters.
“Afternoon, both of you dummies.”


“I dunno, fae have their own goddess though.”

 

I nod.
“Let’s.”

 

Shadow Stephanie looks up, surprised.


"Yeah, they're fairly unique though." The water guardian shrugs.

 

“Well, you must be the one who took my contract. Get down, they’re coming.” He says, holding up a gauntlet with a charged crystal in Shadow Stephanie’s face.


“I dunno, then.”

He heads towards the other side of the courtyard.

 

I start following.

 

He heads through a smaller doorway.

 

I continue to follow.

 

Shadow Stephanie ducks.


The water guardian gets onto her dragon's back, seeming ready to head back to the ocean.

 

"Hmm. We only know when we get there. I didn't pay much attention to the surroundings."

 

The door swings open.
“What’s going on?”
“Nothing. Just caught a rogue.”
“The rat?”
“Not sure.”


“Thanks for the conversation. Be well.” Xlentia says happily, turning back towards the fire guardian.

Wait... cliffs and water... maybe there’s a bluff!

He winds up ducking under a wagon hitch.

 

I trail him, mimicking his moves.
