I spend 2 PSI on Wind Step to fly 40 feet, carried by a strong gust of wind.

Then I throw a soul knife down at Orc 5.

Attack: 14 + 10 = 24
Damage: 8 + 2 + 6 = 16 psychic damage = dead

Consumptive knife activates and refunds my two PSI points.

I walk over to the leader and cast Geas.

Raedurg: "You will be my slave and follow my every command without question."

Anafenza barely restrains herself from shooting an eldritch blast at Raedurg.

 

I nimbly slide down from the top of the caravan wagon.

"Huff... we... need to talk... about whatever the hell that miserable excuse for a plan of action was."

 

Once Geas finishes casting, I turn to her.

Raedurg: "You mean Anafenza ruining my plan?"

 

Natasha: "Perhaps if you wished to appoint yourself our strategist in chief, you could of actually informed anyone of your strategy?"

 

Raedurg: "Fine, I'll do more than shouting "betray" loud enough for half the desert to hear it, then."

 

Anafenza sheathes her halberd and raises the visor on her helmet.
Anafenza: "I... don't know what I was thinking."

 

Raedurg: "Either way, you need to think through your actions better. You did lose us the element of surprise, after all."

 

Natasha: "Oh, very funny. It doesn't change the fact that you placed yourself in command without informing any of your 'subordinates'."

"And you, Anafenza. It's abundantly clear that you are a solider, not a strategist. As such, I suggest we coordinate more closely in the future, and stick to the plan from there on."

 

Anafenza: "What element of surprise?"
Anafenza: "We were being attacked by.... those things... out here!"
Anafenza: "They ambushed us, not the other way around!"

Anafenza: "That's fine."
Anafenza: "Just let me know in the future if we're trying to ambush someone."

 

Natasha: "I was in the process of gaining a vantage point... and anyway, they didn't know our strength or numbers until you exposed the heavily armed adventurers hiding inside."

 

Raedurg: "Fair enough. We aren't up against the weakest of foes. We need to coordinate if we want to maximize our chances. Speaking of which..."

I walk over and cast Cure Wounds on our new friend. 10 HP restored.

When he regains consciousness, I tell him: "You will not attack me or my allies, and you will speak common to the best of your ability. Now stand."

 

Anafenza mutters something about taking Remove Curse once she levels up.
