Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

There's a groan outside, then a thud.


"I don't know." Petunia says, wiping her face and returning the coin. "Where'd you manage to get this much of the stuff anyways?"


"Oh, I'm from another reality. Are you capable of telepathy? I don't want to scare people with my title."

 

Shadow Stephanie goes back into her vent to hide.


"Experimentation with Temporus." Praecantatia says happily, taking back the coin and looking at it.


"Not really. People can talk to me but I can't talk to them." The fire guardian says.

 

I decide to ignore them, heading back to Mitch.

 

The rat follows her back, confused.
The door never opens.


"The only paradoxium I know is used by daddy. Could I come here and play with it again someday?" Petunia asks, even her undead half cheering up a bit.


"That's good enough." Xlentia smiles, linking with him.
"Don't panic, okay? I promise I'm not mean. My name is Xlentia, and I'm sort of like my reality's Tenebrae. My full title is Xlentia, Deity of Decay, Darkness, and Destruction."
Xlentia lets the link drop.
"Can you keep that as our little secret?" She asks out loud.

"What project you need all that for? Making a tent or something?" He asks, a bit surprised.

 

Shadow Stephanie climbs out of the vent, carefully opening the door and peeking through the gap.


"Certainly." Praecantatia says, smiling.


"J-Just as you don't harm me, great one." The fire guardian says, bowing for a moment before swiftly getting up and looking around.

"Lady Gaia didn't see that, did she? I don't want to be sent to hell for disrespecting her!" The fire guardian says, scared.

 

"One of my friends might have tailoring equipment. This shirt's almost dirty shreds at this point."
I explain.

 

There's someone bleeding out on the floor a few feet away, as well as the sound of approaching footsteps.
"There they are, get 'em out. Hell if I care where or if you bury 'em." Someone shouts.


Petunia smiles.
"Hug? Her younger self asks, the undead half rolling an eye to reveal a second smiling "young" draconian.


"Oh, don't worry, we're good friends. And I try not to hurt anyone, it's just... hard, when everyone's so small and I'm so... town-sized."

"Fair enough... how many shirts you making, though?"

 

Shadow Stephanie closes the door and runs back to her vent, hiding again.


Praecantatia offers a hug, though so does Fia.


"So...she's not going to send me to hell for briefly praising another god?" The fire guardian confirms, nervous.

 

"Enough to have spares. I don't have any, right now."

 

A group of guards pick up the corpse and move on, someone peeking in the room.
"Damn rats... 'ts like they forget we're the ones giving them their orders..." They grumble before slamming the door and leaving.


Petunia glances at Fia and Praecantatia.
"...Do you have a normal coin to flip?" She asks, smiling.


Xlentia links with Gaia.
"Hey, would you send someone to hell for bowing to me?"
Xlentia just looks deep in thought to the guardian.

"Fair enough... but that's enough for, like, forty shirts. You get into that much trouble or something?"

 

"...A little bit. It's nice to be safe."

 

Shadow Stephanie waits a moment, before climbing back out and sneaking across the floor to the door.


A gold coin appears above Praecantatia's hand. She spins it in the air, before sending it flying upwards, the coin landing in front of Petunia so she read it.


"What do you mean?" Gaia asks, confused.

 

The door’s ajar.


She looks at the coin.
“Heads, I hug Fia first.”


“I told a fire guardian my title, and he bowed to me then started freaking out about how if you saw he might go to hell. I want to tell him he’ll be fine, but this is your gardens place.”

Mitch shrugs.
“A drunk isn’t in a position to argue with that.”

 

"...How often do you get visitors? From that portal, I mean."

 

Shadow Stephanie looks out of the door carefully.


Fia smiles happily, a few stars seeming to appear around her and float upward as she holds out her hands further.


"Oh, that's fine. You do have quite a commanding presence." Gaia says, giggling.

 

“Weekly, ish.” He shrugs.

There’s a blood trail and another rat skittering down the hall.


Petunia hugs her, able to not phase through.


“I’ll tell him it’s okay.”
Xlentia smiles.
“You’ve got nothing to worry about.”

 

Shadow Stephanie follows the rat, though keeps an eye and ear out for anyone else.


Fia seems shocked and surprised, hugging Petunia a little tighter.


"I-I don't?" The fire guardian asks, before dropping to his knees, "Oh thank you Lady Gaia, thank you for your mercy!"

A few people on the beach give the fire guardian strange looks.

 

She hears another squeak as her rat peeks out from the doorway.


Petunia hugs her slightly tighter as well, though it hurts a bit.


Xlentia glances at them.
“He’s just relieved, that’s all.”

 

Shadow Stephanie turns around.


"H-How?" Fia asks, tears starting to run down her face.


The people continue what they're doing as the fire guardian stops praising Gaia, sighing in relief.

 

Her rat runs the opposite direction, the rat she had been following turning a corner.


“What is, is not. What is not, never will. What never will, always is.”


“Well, again, if I’m in your way I can move.” Xlentia says.
