The streets are nearly empty. Wind skims the voids keeping buildings apart, as if grazing the hollow of a cut reed, or say, a plundered house. A familiar note is produced. It's the one Desolation plays to keep its instrument in tune.

Everyone's gone. Well, not everyone. There are still guards, and a few people who really have somewhere they need to be, but it's nothing like when you went in the sewer maybe 10 minutes ago.

Nowhere did I see you mention sticking it in your book, and I just spent 3 hours on it so yeah I think I'm being thorough here.
At the very least, the damage ends, and in the center of a brand-new block size smoking crater is a still-steaming ancient scroll. Seems to still have quite a few souls in it. That wasn't even a dent in the number.

"Didn't you see? Some manner of hired assassins causing a ruckus. Believe me, I'm also curious."

 

My curiosity piqued, I decide to try and move towards the area with the biggest commotion

 

Thorston sneaks around, trying to see if the source of this situation is nearby.

 

Kae nods before calling for the storekeeper. "Storekeeper! There are two injured here! Where are you?"

 

Then I release higher pitch stunning everyone that hears it for the round and try to jump out of the window if this succeeds I cast invis as soon as I'm out.

 

Hmm... well let's screw myself over, eh?
"Um... Excuse me?" (shyly)
If they don't hear me, I try to tell to get their attention. (not at all shyly... .-.)
If I have their attention (and can get a word in): "Um... Do you know anyone... who can help... cure my sight?" (once again shyly)

Well darn. ;-; Also, I realize I should stop asking since my character wouldn't even know, so why do I need to know. ;p; That's going to come back and bite me I swear.

Nah.... you're fine. I can't just capture souls into the scroll, and I don't even have my old powers to do so.

 

You get closer to the building just as an ear-splitting sound erupts from it, dazing you for a short bit.
Speaking of things coming out of the building, once that ends some lizard guy back-flips out a window but suddenly disappears before hitting the ground.

Absolutely nothing. The remaining people talk to you of whispers of unrest, riots near the riverfront, and how everyone shuttered themselves into the nearest shelter they could. Seems people are just waiting for whatever's happening there to blow over.

He rushes out as quickly as an old man can, taking gold and giving potions.
"I'll run out of my stock at this rate... the next shipment isn't coming in for 2 weeks..."

Weird, the other assassins were just sort of waiting. Were they going to go for you one by one? Odd.
On the street, it's mostly assassin panic, but there appear to be a frost giant and some guy in a wheelchair and robes who noticed you leave. Said robe guy reacts with some form of panic or surprise at seeing you, although you can barely tell because they have a mask on. Now that you notice, you can't see a singe inch of skin uncovered on him.

You successfully manage to get ignored by an inanimate castle.

You lean down and retrieve the scroll from the crater, sticking it in the massive tome where it belongs and wait there are suddenly people at the edge of the crater. The headcount is:
[1] Covered in sewage guard with limbs he didn't bother to fully heal so wooden braces
[3] Normal guards
"Stop right there, criminal scum! Your life is now forfeit!"

 

Huh.. somehow I thought that would work.
If Han mentions it: "Oh... What were the colorful flashes then?"
If Han doesn't mention it: "Han, where is everyone?"

 

I ignore the wheelchair guy and run to the bookstore while my invis lasts and if I can I'll recast it as soon as its about ot end, I also take a wierd route not going straight there to throw of the assassins

 

"Wait, how many customers have you had that needed health potions to lose your stock that fast?" Kae asks.

 

The focus goes to only show mt face and slightly darker the visuals.

Eradius: "Heh. My life was always forfeit".

Eradius says that as cool as for the person which isn't quite sure he understood what they guard mean.

I cast lightning from both of my hands streched out making devil horns sign, and I spin around.

 

I take half a pace back, and gather my nerves. Once I am ready, I head towards the door

You hurriedly recast your way through the city, entering the bookstore. With your excellent meandering, along with being invisible 1/60 of the time, there's no way anyone's managed to trace you in any way whatsoever. You might as well never be in danger again.
The bookstore itself, along with the square outside, is slowly emptying out as the afternoon lengthens. The same clerk is at the counter, probably taking a nap or something.

"Yesterday. It was practically a river of refugees coming in from the east. Something about massive destruction, but none of them really wanted to talk about it."

.. You were facing in their general direction to begin with, so all your spin does is give them ample time to duck behind the edge of the crater.

You break down the door, finding a tavern full of innocent corpses, what's clearly at this point a death squad, and some hostage or something tied up by the counter.

You sneak your way through an entire city, seeing streets fill up with increasingly rowdy people as the sun increasingly sinks towards the horizon. of course, with the riverfront being downhill from the entire city, you quickly see fire and a lot of spilled oil.
You're almost definitely a few hours in the future compared to everyone else

 

... I wonder how many people I just creeped out by walking through them. .-.

I wait a bit longer. If no one responds to me, I say to Han again, "My sight can be dealt with later... I guess. Memories, memories. If I was one, where would I be..."

How many people are in here if none or none will notice me what is the most expensive book here.
If there are people people here I look for a book that will change my appearance

I run away casting invis on myself every time it runs out (thanks Dez) and if the guards are still on my trail, I put bomb spell on the ground and detonate it when they get close.
