Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

“Okay, I’ll let you play around with the test kit for phantoms.” Lenka says, handing Shadow Stephanie a core.
“...You want to help too?” He asks Stephanie.


“I’ve deciphered that much. Still, I apologize for my behavior. I did not mean to aggravate you, it’s just that the matter of my demise is a... sensitive topic.”


“No, stuff grew on me. This is when birdwatching gets good.”

 

Stephanie's unresponsive, though that's probably because she's possessed.

Shadow Stephanie looks over the core.


"I understand. Children are precious beings." Praecantatia says.


"How much longer do you plan to stay?" Temporus asks, checking a familiar looking pocketwatch.

 

"Ugh.. I think we're getting closer."
He continues walking through the marsh, trying not to sink through some mud or something.

 

It turns the holodisplay into an open field, Lenka visible as an archer of sorts with demonic horns and spines jutting from his body.
“I’ve been working on this game for a while now. Haven’t had time to work on co-op bosses. Phantom is mobile and has high lifesteal and blinds along with distraction tools. Feel free to play around with your abilities a bit, and if you want to choose an alignment I’ll open those abilities up as well.”
Stephanie appears more as a half-ghost assassin wearing a black fabric cover over her face.


“I still can’t get the loss of my unborn child off my mind... I guess such is just the flaw of sentimentality.”


“How long do I have?”

The centaur get slowed down, you get mud in your fur (still forgot to transform back), but the dragons seem fine.
“...You going to be okay?”

 

"Cool." Shadow Stephanie says, seeing if Stephanie's sword has adapted to the change.


"As a mother myself, if there was anything I could do to help, I would." Praecantatia says.


"Well, I can't say for certain. You'd probably need to ask your own god of time to see what the effects of your disappearance from your reality for a long period of time is. However, the longer you stay here the harder it will be for me to send you back." Temporus says.

 

It’s a pair of twin curved daggers currently attached together like a chakram.


Stella nods.
“I appreciate the sentiment. Again, I’m sorry to irritate you. If you have unfiltered words to give me, go ahead.”


“I don’t have a god of time.”

 

"Yeah, it is just my fur that's getting muddy. It's also a bit more difficult to pull four legs through the mud then two."

He transforms back to his human form, holding on to Anne so she doesn't fall.
"This is better."

 

Nobody pays you any mind, but your feet seem to be muddy after the transformation.

 

"Sweet." Shadow Stephanie says, throwing the chakram.


"No, it's fine." Praecantatia says.


"How does your universe exist without a god of time?" Gaia asks, shocked.

 

He ignores his muddy feet and continues walking through the marsh. He just wants to get back to the island, safe and sound.

 

“Yeah. I’m looking to explore a bit.”

 

It flies out ahead, then returns to her.
“Try out a few abilities, why don’t you?” Lenka asks, a demonic fist raising out from underground beneath him as he raises his left fist.


“Are you sure? You seemed to be holding back. Your criticisms are likely justified.”


“Probably the same way it exists without a goddess of magic. I dunno.” Xlentia shrugs, uprooting a few things.

The one large portal splits into four.
“Have fun.”

First thing’s first, and that is you have to get by a swelled river.

 

"How? Some kind of mouse click combination?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"Sometimes you need to know when not to say things." Praecantatia says.


"Different realities have different rules of existence I suppose." Temporus shrugs.

 

“Thanks.”
I nod, smiling, then enter one at random.

 

"Okay, how to cross this?"

 

Lenka laughs.
“There is no mouse click. Crouch for a sec.”


Stella nods.
“Whatever it was, I hope you can forgive me for it.”


Xlentia says nothing.
“So... a few months? Is that doable?”

“Some of us can fly.”
“I can only carry one passenger at a time, and even then...” The wyvern comments.

You find yourself in a split chamber, half of the portal going to a different place.

 

Shadow Stephanie crouches low to the ground.


"Perhaps." Praecantatia says after a pause.


"It's possible, yes." Temporus says, checking a digital wristwatch. Temporus seems to flicker out of reality for a moment, though only a split second.

 

"It'll take some time for all of us to get over it. But if it's our only option.."

 

After a while, she notices a puff of smoke and her body and weapons are transparent.
“Congrats, you cast a spell.”


Stella sighs.
“Of course the people I need to avoid aggravating are the first people I’m on bad terms with...”


“Is it okay with you?”
