ITs been a while since I've posted because I've got a huge suprise for yall (hopefully) by the end of may. I really needed to improve my structures If I were to have any chance in getting in any build team or doing any more commitions, and yeah! These new builds are based of Pixelbiester, or they are pixelbiester styled. Or "Medieval house with tons of detail, a weird roof, and a load of blocks" kinda style. IDK. I quickly added an ocean and boarder to make it presentable so yeah... tell me why it looks good or not, I am practicing so I need alot of feed back. (so far the BR ppl have said it was good, definitively un-expected)

I love the gradient you used on the water, and your house is very charming. I could definitely see this house on a more rocky island though. Good work =)

The netherbrick-outlining of the roof definitely makes it eye-catching, I can easily picture it on a tropical island- maybe as part of a village.
I'm a bit curious about the grey spire on top of the roof, the one with a cauldron and spruce fences, is it for aesthetical purposes or is it another chimney? The house could easily fit on a seaside cliff, overlooking the surrounding ocean. Colourful builds are certainly not my best card (I prefer making builds that rather melt into the surroundings) but I'll say you've really pulled it off splendidly- the colours work and the materials mix well!
If you want a fair warning (from the notorious over decorator I admit I am), be careful with the details. Not that it's gone overboard on this build.
Keep up the great work! :)

Love the colour gradient of the water .Amazing attention to detail and fits in like a wynncrcat build. I'll rate legendary as well just the water itself

The person who chose netherbirck wasn't me. A friend suggested that I'd do a flatter roof style. Before that I was doing the stair, inverted stair, double block roof, Then a friend came and told me it was bad so I changed it T_T. I dont really know what the spire is XD, I just plonked it on there cus it looked good. I mean It doesn't really look like a chimney to me, but I get where yiou are comming from :D Oof, and the surroundings... yea, definitively not the best terraforming job I have ever done. The island was litterally copied and pasted from and old build xd, I have gone into the habit to reuse my gradient balls which is definitively not advised. Overdetailing, I don't believe that this build is overdetailed as it does not have slabs spamed all over the walls, but I can definitively see where you are comming from. If you can elaborate on your understanding of Overdetailing I can try and improve it but yes, from a distance the details does look abit overwhelming.

Thanks for the advice :D x3 XD :3

forgot to mention. The water was not my origional design. I was inspired by a build called growing up, where they had water like that. Just putting it out there x3

That looks amazing, I like the feel of the overgrown or natural house just plopped down in the middle of a small island. It's like someone was shipwrecked and ended up washing onto this tiny island in the middle of the ocean, having to use the materials around to survive. I could imagine some really cool quests coming about if something like this was added just in the ocean. Great job on it @Qulaey!

The house is pretty messy; you need more purposeful details with your houses, but I like the water. Thumbs up from me.

^ Purposeful details are details which show the structure its purpose. You can add an example of this to the house by showing its resistance to waves bottom layer; after all, there seems to be no way for the house to survive currently when high tide comes.

Btw, why are there hay bales on the bottom when there is no farm?

Another tip, if this is an isolated island, maybe make the house with materials that are only accessible on the island. If you insist that the materials have been transported from another land, possibly show evidence of that happening by making a small dock or somethin'.

Anyways, it's your build so you think of something purposeful/creative to add. From my point of view, just splattering different blocks on walls and placing details randomly across it is not the most ideal kind of detail; It comes across as a bit lazy and not thought out properly.

    Criticism is healthy!
    Good luck!

    Ty for the reply :D

Yes I totally agree with you, I definitively could have put more thought into this build. Any way still try and keep in mind that this is only a practice build, only ment for the house itself x3. the island was litterally copy and pasted but I agree with you in that I need to think about the surroundings and the stories of my build. I have really learned about this comming into the wynn build team. Optimising player experience, adding details to enrich the story is way harder than it seems.

That is apart of my builds I definitively need to improve, also the composition also critically needs work.

My next build I will sure take all of these things into consideration, environment, terrain, errosion generally all abiotic factors of the world surrounding my build. Its nice to have a critical eye to look at your work once in a while. I hope my builds won't turn out as bad on wynn T_T

I tried to add purposeful details all through out this build but maybe not your type.., I strive to have no random slab spam, no random staircases, but instead they all have a use. If it is not used for windows, floor boards, supports and other things that serve no pourpouse to the build I get rid of them. but yes I can see what you mean. My main objective for this practice build was to get rid of my bad habit of slab spamming to add detail the island was basically to flare it up so its not just a house with a black back ground. but yes! I am super glad that you didn't mention that.

    Thanks for the advice again!

:D I am always open for critiism. I guess being flamed by a fourms member would be better than being flamed by hams and kicc out of the CT T_T

Oh yee one more question. Are you in CT as well? or are you like an admin in disguise?
