Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

He goes over to the centaurs and wakes them.
"Hey, wake up you too."

 

"Who are you supposed to be? My tutorial?" Shadow Stephanie asks, testing.


Katie swims to the top of the glacier, letting her head emerge.

"Because I messed up, and now you're mad at me." Katie says, sad.

 

“No, I am Stella. I’m just here to get you started. Do you have any programs in mind you’d like to boot?”


“What? Why would I be mad at you?”

They both groan.
“Hmm...?”

 

"We're leaving. The Leviathan is taking us to the island."

 

Shadow Stephanie looks a little bit guilty.

"What information do you have stored on items relating to the term 'Eve'?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"Because...you said about Gaia insulting you, and t-then you got mad at me for trying to pressure you." Katie says.

 

“Eve as in the word, one of several holidays, the simulation program, or the location?” Stella asks, smiling.


“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to snap at you.”

“Wait, it’s cleared up?”

 

"Yeah, the storm is over. We can go to the island now."

 

"The...location?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"R-Really?" Katie asks, mood beginning to change.

 

They glance at each other.
“The island? Aren’t there more dragons there?”

“Eve is a fringe galaxy approximately eight jumps away from your current location. However, you don’t have captain-level permissions of the vessel you’re currently in, so I can’t initiate a jump sequence.”


“Yeah.” Xlentia says, sighing. “I’m sorry.”

 

"Huh." Shadow Stephanie says, glancing over at Stephanie who seems to be amusing herself with her own games.


Katie puts her arms out for a hug.

 

“Is there anything else I can help you with?”


Xlentia smiles.
“Uh...”
She then holds one claw out for hugging.

 

"Are you hiding some of the results of my query from me?" Shadow Stephanie asks, suspicious.


Katie hugs it, smile returning.

 

“Yes, there is one classified omitted result.” Stella nods. “Soulscan says you have the clearance to access the information, should you desire.”


Xlentia messes Katie’s hair up a bit by gently nuzzling the top of her head, avoiding applying pressure.

 

"And what result is that?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Katie laughs, happy; splashing a freshly-melted chunk of ice over her head to straighten her hair out again.

 

"Yes, but those are friendly towards each other and others. You'll be safe on the island."

 

“Project Eve, a mostly robotic prototype resembling a female human. Used in several encounters on the side of the Resistance. Skilled with drawing, as well as someone I hope to someday meet. A recorded argument makes the chance nigh impossible, but said argument has been deleted, and I cannot recall what error I made.” She says, looking a bit sad. “Anything else?”


Xlentia smiles.

“They... don’t eat everyone else?”

 

"No, atleast not that I know off. There are villages on the island aswell, so they have to be friendly."

 

“Any other centaur villages, or will we be on our own?”

 

"If the argument was deleted, how do you know it was recorded? Surely, as an AI, you can't see deleted items unless you leave some kind of trace? And, if so, wouldn't that be inefficient for storage? Sort of like fragmentation with outdated operating systems?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Katie's glacier melts, and she skates over to Xlentia's gold pile to inspect the coins.

 

"No, there are no centaur villages, not that I know of atleast. There is a human village and a shapeshifter one."
