Can I make an arcana check to understand the magic the wand has?

Wand, rare (requires attunement by a spellcaster)

This wand has 7 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 of its charges to cause a thin blue ray to streak from the tip toward a creature you can see within 60 feet of you. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be paralyzed for 1 minute. At the end of each of the target's turns, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on itself on a success.

The wand regains 1d6 + 1 expended charges daily at dawn. If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed.

 

Zarxik:"Now this is nice" I turn to Knaal and say "So what now?"

 

Knaal:"Now we're going back to get you your map."

 

Zarxik:"Can we rest here for sometime?"

 

Knaal:"They might send reinforcements so resting in our village would be safer." He says while walking to the trapdoor to go down. Do you follow?

 

I put the wand in my pockets and follow

 

I'm just going to assume everybody follows Knaal.
You walk back to the big building in the village, in the back of the building is a room with a few beds.
Knaal:"You can rest in here if you want to."

 

Zarxik:"Ok this will work"
I start attuning to the wand of paralysis and since that would be a short rest can I role hit dice?

 

Yes you can

 

Since it wasn't clarified I'll assume that I'm on 1 hp

Actually quick question about the wand does it have max charges curentlly or no?

 

Knaal walks out of the room and comes back with a map of the region. Just look at the pvp world map to see what's on.
