Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Yeah, I'll probably leave once the others wake up."

 

"I didn't realise the station got so damaged in the attack." Shadow Stephanie says, deciding to look through the telescope again.


"She'd probably take that as a compliment." Artemis says, laughing lightly.

 

"I'll let you get back to them, then. I'll be waiting on the beach, should you need me."

 

"Sure thing. I'll see ya later."

 

"I think about a third of it was destroyed in the attack." Lenka comments.

What appears to be an arkship is heading in the opposite direction of the convoy.


Amethyst looks annoyed before hugging Bea and relaxing.

"As always, stay safe." Mark waves, heading back down the mountain.

 

"Will do."
He waves back before looking around the cave.

"Everyone is still sleeping huh? Well, I don't want to anger people by waking them up."

 

Talking to yourself probably isn't helping with that.

It's quiet, the occasional snore echoing throughout the cave.

 

"What's that one heading the other way?" Shadow Stephanie asks, keeping track of the arkship.


Bea hugs Amethyst back.

"I'm glad you have your head back. I knew things would work out." Bea says happily.

 

"It's full of cryopods, corpses, and wounded. Guess they're still short on workers there. I can hardly believe that, though... Idhaenna's offering fifty times combined hourly pay across all current jobs someone has if they work on restoration. If I wasn't needed here, I'd consider having my entire crew take her up on that offer. That's a serious chunk of change."


"It's funny, but maybe I can look at the big people on thrones now."

 

He gently taps against Anne's cheek.
"Sweety, you awake?"

 

"Am I preventing you from working there with this tour?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


"Sure! I bet they'd love to see you now that you're better." Bea says happily.

 

"Rrrrmmm... Five more minutes..." She mumbles, curling up a bit tighter.

"Yes, but we've got our own to-do list we're going through while we're sitting here." Lenka shrugs. "Don't worry about it."


"Could we go now?"

 

"Okay. I just want to tell you some news."

 

"Fiiiine." She moans, yawning stretching.

 

"Alright." Shadow Stephanie says, trying to look elsewhere.


"Certainly. Would you like to come, Artemis?" Bea asks.

"Yes, I'll bring Abigail and give notice we're leaving. Everything appears to be peaceful here." Artemis says, getting up and picking up Abigail; holding her over her shoulder like a hunter with a dead animal. Artemis struggles a bit to hold Abigail at first, but seems to stabilise herself.

Bea gets up, offering Amethyst a hand to get up herself.

 

"You sure? I can wait five minutes if you want me to."

 

She finds what seems to be either an isolated part of an asteroid belt, or just a bunch of planetary debris.


Amethyst takes her hand, but seems unbalanced now that she has a head.

"I'm up now." She complains. "Just tell me."

 

Shadow Stephanie keeps looking around, hoping for something to appear.


Bea helps Amethyst get onto her feet and carefully guides her out of the room. Artemis stays a few steps ahead, a bit of drool dripping from Abigail's mouth as she's carried to the throne room.

 

She winds up seeing a rather small ship on its way towards the arkship.
"I'm going to hope my tracker's wrong. How many mining craft do you see heading back here?"


Amethyst mostly relies on Bea to stay on two feet, though she's slightly more balanced than she was headless.

 

"One?" Shadow Stephanie says.


Bea leads Amethyst to the large open doors of the the throne room, the luminant king and queen inside on their thrones, smiling and talking to each other.
