Void Rift (rp) - Intermission

"Man. I would like to meet a god someday. That would be so cool, you know."

 

“You know, that reminds me... you wouldn’t believe who she mentioned. Want to take a guess?”

 

"What?" Shadow Stephanie asks, surprised, "They still have free will, right?"


"You want to lose that head of yours again?" Abigail asks, furious as she steps closer with a fireball in hand.

Artemis raises a hand. A large wooden hand breaks out from the ground and grabs Abigail, restraining her.

"Why don't you go and ask if there's any spare fire guardian clothes the guards can give you?" Artemis suggests, staring Abigail in the eyes; seeming to unnerve her slightly.

"As long as she doesn't try to undress me again. Pervert." Abigail says spitefully. Artemis releases her, and she storms off.

"I'm sorry. Abigail can be uncooperative at times. She's a good person inside though." Artemis says apologetically to Bea and Amethyst.

 

"Was it me? Or maybe Rema?"

 

“Of course. You’re not yourself if you can’t think and act like you and you alone would.


“DEMON!” Amethyst shouts after Abigail, looking hurt.

“Sgavrinn.”

 

"Alright, good. I thought you were going to turn into some kind of control freak overlords then." Shadow Stephanie sighs, deciding to use a telescope.


Abigail turns around and makes a rude expression with her hands, though Artemis' glare keeps her moving.

 

“Nobody likes EBB. I wouldn’t worry too much about that.”

She can see a few solar systems and a nebula, along with a somewhat visible galaxy and a couple comets.


Amethyst waits until Abigail’s out of sight, then snaps and causes the robe to unravel in the hall.

 

"Sgavrinn? Why him of all people?"

 

“I don’t know, but I think you may be a part of some crazy big plan all of two people understand.” Mark shrugs.

 

"Serene." Shadow Stephanie comments, trying to move the telescope a bit.


There's a high pitched scream, before shouts of death threats. Bea gives Amethyst a suspicious look.

A few moments later, Abigail bursts back into the room. Naked and engulfed in flames, Abigail charges toward Amethyst. Artemis' attempts to stop Abigail are wasted, Abigail burning through vines, a thick wooden prison and even a wooden clone of Artemis twice her size; the clone being thrown to the side and burning away.

"I'M GONNA KILL YOU!" Abigail shouts as she charges closer, before suddenly seeming to trip and fall. As Abigail's bodily flames die out, a large blue dart is revealed to be protruding from her neck. Abigail's hair seems to slowly turn from orange to ash-grey.

"Is everyone alright? She didn't hurt anyone, did she?" A guard asks, standing in the entrance to Amethyst's room. A large rifle is held in his right hand, while his left seems to hold two other darts.

"We're fine, thank you for dealing with her." Bea says.

Artemis walks over to Abigail's body, pushing her onto her back and putting her head against Abigail's chest; Abigail's eyes closed.

"That dart should just put her out of action for a bit. It's not designed to kill." The guard says, suddenly appearing near to Abigail.

"I'll carry her home. Thanks for stopping her before she did any harm." Artemis says to the guard, sighing as she looks at Abigail's unconscious body. Artemis grows some vines over Abigail's chest and waist area, covering up the most glaring parts of her nudity.

 

"And who are those two people?"

 

It seems she can't do it manually, but it automatically moves once her focus points towards the edge of the lens.
The dark sky is filled with stars, the occasional visible planet, a ball of light that might be a black hole, and a few other ships going by.


"She ruined my home, too." Amethyst complains. "Serves her right."

"I dunno, I meant it was just one of those plans that only the people who made it understand."

 

"I don't want to part of this. I don't know why they want me. Why me of all people?"

 

"If I knew, I'd tell you. I figure you could always say no, it's not like they're your parents or anything."

 

"What are those ships?" Shadow Stephanie asks, stepping back to let Lenka look.


"She also ruined your home?" Bea asks, surprised.

Artemis carefully extracts the dart from Abigail's neck. She wraps a smaller vine around where it was and hands the dart back to the guard.

 

"Why do I have the feeling you're wrong about that? I know my parents are dead, but I don't think dead is the end in this world. All the magic and such can do lots of things."

 

He doesn't bother looking.
"That's the supply convoy headed to Idhaenna's palace. You should see a fair amount of ships going in and out, considering the medbays on her palace were destroyed."


Amethyst nods, glaring at Abigail.
"She's not even nice like the green one who did."

"I mean, you've reached a spirit plane, I think you said. You're probably right."

 

"Yeah. And Rema said she would know a way to speak to my parents, which I still plan on doing by the way."

 

"Oh, when were they destroyed?" Shadow Stephanie asks.


Artemis smiles at Amethyst.

"She can be nice. She's just hostile with people she doesn't fully know yet." Artemis says, keeping an eye on Abigail.

 

"You were there." Lenka says, as if the question was a joke.


"Succubi!" Amethyst protests.

"Well... you can go ahead and do that now. Er... once you get back to the island, at least."
