Anafenza (whispering): "If we do fight them and they have spell casters, stay near me. I can produce an aura that defends against magic."
Anafenza (whispering): "Otherwise, I'll go in with my halberd."

 

Raedurg (whispering): "Got it. Hmm... You know, I could Geas one of them into serving us... Amassing an army could be beneficial."

 

Anafenza moves away from Raedurg on her broom. Dorghalan hisses at you.

 

Raedurg (whispering): "Again, I'm not interested in mind-controlling my allies. Don't worry, you're fine."

 

Anafenza: "..."

 

Natasha: "I have just the discipline for that... assuming an attack becomes necessary, of course."

"In any case... we still don't know if they bear us ill intent. I am loath to suggest such a simplistic plan, but perhaps we should simply make our presence known and gauge their response?"

 

Raedurg: "If we want to lost the advantage of surprise, that is... We could send someone in as bait, of course."

 

"Of course. I am not visibly armed... therefore, I may be the best candidate."

 

Raedurg: "Seems to be a wise idea... Maybe if they attack, I can Geas the one in the back and have it attack its companions..."

 

Geas has a casting time of 1 minute.

 

Well, just stall for one minute then.

 

10 rounds is a little ridiculous for a quick combat encounter.

 

I meant have him keep them talking for one minute, but whatever.

 

You would have to be close to him, obviously chanting a spell. It would be hard to do it subtly. I think the point of Geas is to use it on someone you've already subdued.

 

Fair enough...

See, that's a far more suitable spell for in-combat stuff.
